"Never put it on the hat or glove," he said. "That's the first place to look. I learned real quick not to put it there." Cheater! Could have made it a point to be on the straight and narrow, but no. He missed it. I'm tired of glamorizing cheaters. the real heroes are the men and women who play by the rules.

you two need to loosen up. Gaylord Perry is a good guy and was great for the game of baseball.

Compared to everything else going on in baseball today, his antics were tame by comparison.

A-Rod, McGuire, Sosa, Bonds and the rest vs. Perry. Uh, I'll take Perry all day long.

nobud, for the record, I loved Sammy Sosa. He was also good for the game to a large extent, even though the steroids tainted his accomplishments.

I just shake my head sometimes at peoples comments.

Thank you Mr. Perry for coming to Williamsport, sharing your baseball stories and donating your time to Little League. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Well said Davy.

Seriously, what Perry did, is almost irrelevant compared to people who these kids in the past have referred to as their favorite players; ARod, Sosa, McGuire, Bonds, & even Braun.

Is it a straight and narrow you're looking for? There's always Cal Ripken Jr. I always thought it'd be cool for the city to invite him to the Cal Ripken field out near the Creek Road, introduce these kids to the guy who's name their league is attributed to.

Derek Jeter... now he's a stand-up guy and a heck of a role model! Arod can go bury himself behind center field for all I care and I really hope the little leaguers don't mention him this year when asked who their favorite player is.
