August 20, 2013

Responding to Mr Kelly's letter about the lighting for crime prevention, you are correct, it may not be the answer, but if you are so set on giving money for free tickets, game and activities for......

Shulski, We do agree on at least on point. The Sun-Gazette needs to find a different filter for this forum. It is sometimes difficult to make a point because of all the words this one blocks. I always like finding points of agreement with people, with whom I usually disagree. I like to think that it fosters an air of civility. It probably doesn't, but I do hope that it might.

Shulski, Wow, you got to know me that well in such a short time. Or maybe not. In 30 years of living in New York, no one ever called me a ridneck. Lots of other names they call conservatives, but not that. I don't support war with the world, but at least I believe that if we are going to war, it should be in our interest and not the Muslim Brotherhood's. The fact that you believe that freedom and merit are myths tells me things about you I would rather not know. If we placed more value on freedom and merit, we would have fewer people incarcerated. You don't like the war against straw-man liberals, yet you throw labels around pretty freely. If you don't like liberal, what term would you use to describe yourself politically. Progressive, Communist, don't try independent, as you've already proven that isn't true. Williamsport might be a big city, but I'll bet we could find an anger management course for you so you wouldn't have to write hate filled posts like that last one.

Enigma: ridneck conservative under the delusion that he's 'counter-cultural'. Being a selfish prack is bucking the liberal system. Especially when you support war with the world and locking up more people per capita than even Russia. Freedom and meritocracy myths. Better off believing in goblins and Greek gods than Coulter and Beck. More realistic.

Ridnecks. That was censored in the first comment. Unbelievable what a conservative run site will censor. Herion is another one. You have to misspell these things.

This war against strawman 'liberals' has got to stop. Liberal means liberty dummies. People around here are so stupid. I'll bet that people here for the little league open the paper and laugh at how ignorant conservatives are around here. And conservative hypocrisy.

I may just start a charity to buy free tickets for kids. Then we'll see if these liberals will put their money where their mouths are, or will they just advocate for spending tax money on these 'great' ideas. My guess is that my charity would never get off the ground. While the city's ideas about crime prevention are insipid, the idea that giving the youth an entitlement mentality will help is counter-productive.

Mr. Hurley, In my humble opinion, Free baseball tickets, or wisely spent money on activities for children is a wise investment in today's world. You seem angry, my hopes are that today is a very good one for you.

"if you are so set on giving money for free tickets, game and activities for the youth, crack heads and dope dealers, then spend yours!"

Mr. Hurley, the fact that you placed youth in the same category as crackheads and drug dealers says a lot regarding your position on this issue. Mr. Kelley was merely pointing out that the money may be spent more wisely by investing it in our area's youth, which I happen to agree.
