I have to agree with her. There are some very poor drivers out there on the roads these days. I often wonder how these people were able to even get a driver's license. Maybe they don't have one?

I travel the traffic circles on Via Bella daily and there needs to be a course given to those that do not know how to drive there.

75 Pa CS § 4302. Periods for requiring lighted lamps. (a) General rule.--The operator of a vehicle upon a highway shall display the lighted head lamps and other lamps and illuminating devices required under this chapter for different classes of vehicles, subject to exceptions with respect to parked vehicles, at the following times: (1) Between sunset and sunrise. (2) Any time when the operator cannot discern a person or vehicle upon the highway from a distance of 1,000 feet due to insufficient light or unfavorable atmospheric conditions, including rain, snow, sleet, hail, fog, smoke or smog. (3) Any time when the vehicle's windshield wipers are in continuous or intermittent use due to precipitation or atmospheric moisture, including rain, snow, sleet or mist. *** As you can see, Ms. Crayton's letter, while not written to the high standards of many who comment here, is in fact a very informative as to the laws of the Commonwealth regarding usage of lights. Drive Safely!

Leaningright, I agree and really there was no reason to have them there when they didn't have the real estate to engineer them properly. However, Confusion Corner and the intersection at Grampian and Market are two areas that may benefit from traffic circles.

If you can not see another vehicle, then YOU are the one who should NOT be on the road. When I was in the army we did a lot of night driving with no lights allowed.

Capricorn- agreed, but take a look at the traffic circles on Via Bella, they are being ran up over and on top of by large vehicles and will not last. Maybe better design is necessary, i like the ones downtown but hate to see our tax dollars wasted on poor design.

"My son and I drove the length of I-180 on Sunday from I-80 on the cycle. We were doing 65-70 the whole way and didn't pass a single car or truck. 75mph seems to be the norm." - SteelerFan

I've noticed the same...since FOREVER.

We could have TWO, full-time, State Cop helicopters parked, in Montoursville, if they'd start busting (more-heavily) on I-180...on NY/Jersey-drivers, ALONE!! To be fair, I'm sure we have just as many drivers, from West (of here), where speed-limits ARE 75mph.

The U.S. needs to make greater use of traffic circles as they do in Europe and Canada.

There's nothing "somewhat", about what she suggests.

Anyone (here) who's unaware of the number of accidents, that happen...where someone pulls-out, in-front-of someone they couldn't see coming towards them (usually, around dusk), and gets BROAD-SIDED...and, often-enough, KILLED...hasn't been driving very-long.

You should see Stephanie Crayton's car. I saw her driving her car which lord knows how it passes inspection which at the time had a giant spider-webbed windshield for quite a while. Don't know if she got it fixed yet or not. She should not be lecturing about road safety.

Hey, c'mon...with seat-belts (NOW) being standard-equipment, at least the "herd" is being thinned-out of those folks who shouldn't be driving, anyway...when they refuse to wear their belts, and get LAUNCHED into The Great Void!

I consider that Intelligent Design, at it's BEST...especially when it helps to cull the LEAST-intelligent!!

Relax, driving here is no different than any other part of the country. In fact, there are much worse areas. Everyone is in a big hurry to get no where important.

No one can see them coming and they are the cause of many accidents. Besides speeding and not using turn signals, rolling stops and running red lights in this town. They need to be fined and licenses revoked." - Stephanie J. Crayton

What I've found most-bizarre...and, it's GOTTA be a coincidence...is, so many of those folks are driving neutral-colored cars, that blend...TOO-well...with their surroundings.

I'm guessing...MOST-of-them have the attitude "I can see, FINE! Why do I NEED to have my lights, on???"...or, it's always possible they're "rogue"-drivers, who aren't ABOUT to let any "librul" laws telling them how to drive.

Some people are "brainless" and just plain RUDE, get some manners and then we could "see the world around us" a little better. Your all just so perfect.

Say what you want and make it sound trivial but she is somewhat correct. Lets talk about the idiots that just have to jump out into the intersection on Maynard street under the highway when they know they wont be able to get out of the intersection when the light changes, hence blocking the traffic even more, it is called impedeing traffic and is illegal.Lets talk about almost everyone who seems to think that a phone call or a text is more important than other drivers lives,(open your eyes, you will see it) Really, you look very stupid on your phones and maybe when you smack into a telephone pole you will have the manufacturers name of the phone imprinted on your face for the rest of your life, maybe that would teach you.How about people that drive around with the dog in the driver seat, not sure but would venture a guess that is illegal also, again, just so you know, you look extremely stupid. Thats all i have to say but all of it is true and some of us get sick and tired of it.

I wonder what would happen if she encountered someone with an expired registration sticker! Oh the horror!

I envy Ms. Crayton. She has the time and energy to become incensed over the smallest things, while most of us are busy trying to get through life.

Stephanie, Next time you are out driving in the rain, please turn your windshield wipers and defroster on. Also there is another interesting product called Rain-X that you can apply to the outside of the window that causes water to bead up. Theses suggestions will allow you to see the world around you a little better.

Stop teaching children (and their parents) that they are the center of the universe ans they might have more respect and awareness for others around them. They might start caring again how their actions affect others lives with whom they interact, and not only the other way around.
