I have known the Campana family for over 50 years.... Gabe has always had an interest in the local area but in this I am against him to fill in Memorial pool.

This pool is NEEDED for the community and there are ways to get out side funding for repair and any security but is not even mention when the Sun puts it to print.

I feel there is a secrete agenda here and when they finally win and fill in this pool we will all hear of the great new plan for this area.

Beware people.... once the pool is filled it will never come back.

Once again the West End takes a hit from our Mayor. Of course the West End Pool had over 3000 visitors this year, it's the only pool in town. And once again I hear comments about how bad the Memorial Park area is. Why doesn't the city police pay as much attention to Memorial Park as they do the West End area, I can remember a few years ago hearing about the drug use and problems in the parks in that area of town, who cleaned it up and how, why can't the same be done for Memorial Park and the pool. When it was open that pool was always busy, and good place to go, I used to take my family there daily before I bought my own house and put in a pool. Which now due to the high cost of water and sewage in the city I might remove. People don't let the Mayor do away with Memorial Pool, there has to be a way to fix. it.

You're correct HarryT, there were reports of drug use and problems in the West end of town-- Newberry park hasn't had basketball hoops for years. The problem with your post is the pool is in EAST End and need I remind you this is the SECOND year Memorial pool has been closed. The people from Memorial had no problem making their way to Loyalsock pool, just ask the patrons there.
