"Your problem on this forum..."

--

I don't have a problem on this forum. I was agreeing with what Scott said, and I added to his point with my own personal experience.

They tell me to go away too Scott. Despite that I have lived here for seven years, I'm still called 'influx'.-JerryfromRI

Don't just tell me what you think, I don't care. What I want to see is why you think it. If you can explain why then I will have some respect for what.-enigma

I don't explain myself?? I seriously will try to explain my opinions more thoroughly to you from here on out. If there is something you are wondering, please ask. It has always been my ultimate goal to be respected by conservatives, as I know that I could never achieve, & maintain their way of thinking, it would be a alien experience to me, but I can still strive for it.

Maybe if you didn't still call yourself Jerry from RI people wouldn't still call you influx. Assimilation is the key. I moved here two years ago and nobody calls me influx. Your problem on this forum is that you ignore what people say. Communication is a two way street. I know you do this because many times you will take a sentence or even a fragment out of context and beat it up, when the context of the sentence already refutes your argument. It's a trick many in the media use and you use it quit adeptly, but it is a cheap and dirty trick. It has no place in intelligent discourse. It is only suited to partisan hacks. Be intelligent, don't be a hack.

The City of Williamsport seems happy to accept the mountain of local taxes I pay tho.

'Sigh....One can only wonder what a traveler passing through & picks up a paper thinks of the area.'

Especially if the first names the traveler sees are Shaman and Reeder.

Scott, I do not want you to go away, I want you to carry on an intelligent dialog. If you are not capable of doing that, then go away. We already have Sham and Chuck to snipe and troll. Don't just tell me what you think, I don't care. What I want to see is why you think it. If you can explain why then I will have some respect for what. The past would indicate that I will not agree and I will do you the courtesy of telling you why. That's how civilized people interact, and the way I prefer things. Who knows, you might even change my mind on something, if you can offer a well reasoned argument.

enigma-----WOW, Me thinketh me struck a nerve!! LOL

eniggie ole buddy, This is the second time you have accused me of being condescending, AND an "arrogant jerk" to boot!! I Like it here, & as far as being a hick, I would venture to say that I qualify for that more than you.(I have a 5 mile drive to hit the nearest paved road) It seems that certain people on these boards are overly concerned about my intelligence, 36IQ e.g. I have never considered myself better than anybody else.(my opinion is that most people are much better than I, less faults, etc..) I may feel my views are better, but not me. BUT if YOU feel that I possess some sort of superior mental abilities, may I suggest that you strive to match or exceed it. Isn't that supposed to be the conservative way? Hard work, & determination? Or is it try to drag the opponent down to a lower level? Or is it as you suggest that I "just go away"?- Have a nice day, Scott

Scott36,"One can only wonder what a traveler passing through & picks up a paper thinks of the area."

You don't have to wonder, I can tell you. They think that these are bitter people, clinging to their guns and religion. That is unless they are not Communists, then they think that these are Americans, saying what they believe.

You arrogant jerk. You haven't demonstrated any amount of intelligence or sophistication here, but you seem to believe that you are so much better and smarter than all these local hicks. You sound more like Sham every day. If you don't like the people here, go somewhere that you can find some people worthy of your presence. We don't deserve you.

An example of a short letter that does actually say something. It could have been written a little better, but it does make you think.

It's got a good beat and I can dance to it.

The recent articles about assistance, in some states, provides more than entry-level jobs is a great example of the difference in thinking between liberals and conservatives.

Liberals see this and say the gov't must force entry-level wages higher.

Conservatives see this and say we should cut back on assistance, pushing those people into those entry-level jobs instead.
