"Only one can solve the problems we have. That person is our Lord Jesus Christ. You can trust him. He is not a liar!" - Sarah Harman

*

He's also DEAD...despite what the clerics tell you...which can have "somewhat" a negative-impact on the whole problem-solving trip.

How is it possible this letter "missed" the Religion-column...where it belongs??

Liberals recoil from any sign of faith while they celebrate dysfunction, debauchery and disorder.

With regard to the LTE: The Lord has given us all we need. It is up to us now.

Sham,"He's also DEAD...despite what the clerics tell you."

Gee Sham, You should read your history. Ancient Roman historians, from before the Christian era of Rome attested to the resurrection of one Jesus of Nazareth, as did Jewish historians. That's an interesting fact seeing as how both the Jews and the Romans wanted Him to stay dead.

Dr. Simon Greenleaf, the Royal Professor of Law at Harvard University, was one of the greatest legal minds that ever lived. Dr. Greenleaf concluded that according to the jurisdiction of legal evidence the resurrection of Jesus Christ was the best supported event in all of history! It should be noted that before he researched it, Greenleaf believed it was a hoax, much like Sham. Unlike Sham, he was convinced when the evidence was presented.

AmericanCitizen, If it makes you feel better, no true Christian is happy that you are going to he11. They would much rather see you in heaven, as would God, but if you hate Him, he will not force you to spend eternity with Him. Please change your mind and join us. It promises to be a great time, and Jesus Christ has already paid for your ticket. For more information, see your nearest Christian.

This is hardly the place to debate faith. You either believe or you don't. I choose to believe. So many have lost faith or chosen not to have any.It makes you wonder if there's any corrolation between that and all the evil in the world these days. Those who "preach" open- mindedness on other issues seem to be the most closed- minded on this issue.

enigma and Tgrammiex4 - thank you for at least being civil in your statements, a trait becoming more and morer rare among Christians. Please be aware I am not intentionally rebelling against God. Belief is not a matter of choice. I don't choose not to believe the stories in the Bible, I simply CAN'T believe them.

He11 may be the best example - an all-loving God threatens me with eternal torture if I don't worship Him? The statement is an oxymoron and I simply can't believe it. If this God didn't want he11 to exist, then it wouldn't. Off the top of my head, how about giving souls the option of ceasing to exist altogether or creating an additional realm for them to reside in besides with Him or in he11?

How is eternal punishment for finite crimes either just or compassionate?

AmericanCitizen, You're missing one very important point. God doesn't want you to suffer that eternal punishment. That's why He has provided a way for you or anybody else to avoid it. Jesus Christ took your punishment. He paid the price. All you have to do is accept Him and His sacrifice. That's what an all loving God does. What an all loving God won't do is force Himself on you. You are free to choose whether you want to love Him or not. If you choose not to, He will not force you to live with Him for eternity. He11 is not so much a punishment as an alternative, a very unpleasant alternative. That's because God won't be there. On Earth, He is present and therefor, there is goodness on Earth. In He11 He will not be present so there will be nothing good there. I don't expect you to convert right here on this forum, but at least think about it. You owe it to yourself.

*****is real, and yes....it is in this earth, the center.......

Excellent letter, and it only takes a second to die, but an eternity to live.

Your choice - and it's not like some of us haven't tried to witness. A look at events unfolding rapidly around the world and we as Christians, know Christ's return is not far away. We have a hope. One can call themselves a Christian, but knowing about Him and knowing Him are two different things. Make no mistake, God is alive and well.

The letter made one point - "Sunday Christians" there are plenty of them.

There are degrees of h e l l.....

So, God is just.

Nonetheless, h e l l still exists.

It is sad that this forum speaks to that Scripture verse by volumes.

Yeah...I remember (from my conservative-Protestant upbringing)..."Touch me not, for I am not yet ascended to my Father."

I often wonder WHICH "disciple" ran this whole stand-in routine. If it wasn't for the (remaining) 11 "disciples"...Jerry Falwell & Pat Robertson would more-than-likely be run-o'-the-mill medicine-show pitchmen.

Now a word for you Christians out there. Stop using the Bible as a club. The Word of God should be used to heal, not to wound. The harshest words that Jesus said to sinners was "go, and sin no more" and that was only after he had shown them unbelievable compassion. His harshest words were reserved for the hypocritical religious leaders, calling them vipers and whitewashed tombs. Take a lesson from Christ, if you want someone to act like a Christian, you must first show them why they should be a Christian.
