Orders?

September 6, 2013

As a retired federal agent, I was interested in the article, "President offers new gun control measures" on page A-3 of your August 30 edition....

Obama's gun policies obviously have little to do with keeping guns out of the hands of criminals. Instead, his directives are aimed at law-abiding citizens and nobody else, because those are the people he fears.

Nobody has yet explained to me how any of the edicts Obama has sent from on high will do anything to reduce gun violence. It should be and is troubling that the Liberal elites in this country dream of a unarmed populace, yet do nothing to disarm criminals. Tells us who they are afraid of.

"The second executive order "will end a government practice that lets military weapons, sold or donated by the U.S. to allies, be reimported into the U.S. by private entities, where some may end up on the streets." - Ron Benjamin

WHAT'S the number of that Executive Order?

"...Obama will rule despite what the peoples' representatives say."

Yes. He has done so with welfare reform, the Dream Act, Cap & Trade, and ObamaCare, which makes it so obvious that his asking Congress for a vote on Syria is nothing but a political CYA move.

Congress itself, for many years, has unconstitutionally delegated its authority to unelected bureaucracies administered by the executive branch.

I could locate nothing on these EO's, not saying they don't exist, just may not be published as of yet, but, there is pending legislation in Congress, H.R. 2247, the “Collectible Firearms Protection Act” sponsored by Rep. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) that would prevent this. Contact Boehner and your Congressman if you are a supporter. Obama and his disciples are taking out their collective frustration for being unable to pass a gun control agenda. The only people who will suffer are citizens who would never break the law with any of these firearms. Punishing innocent people is not the way to lead, it may be the Chi-town way, but it’s not the American way.

"...Obama will rule despite what the peoples' representatives say." Congress will allow him to rule due to the weak-minded and weak-kneed Republicans in Congress, especially those sellouts in leadership positions. Nothing will change till the 2 major parties are shown the door.

Actually you saying that Bush using executive orders was okay and Obama using them is not is hypocrisy.

Obama has used the esecutive order far less than Bush.

I'm sure he'd apologized for making Congress earn their paycheck$...even the T-Baggin' Class O' 2010 (who'd assumed they'd gotten-away with something...hu$tling such a well-paying job...from the OTHER T-Baggers). They must have been absolutely SHOCKED to find there would still be (actual) work required...after they'd assumed all they had to do was scream-out "NO!!", on a never-ending schedule.

"It states President Obama has issued executive orders to require corporations and trusts to name a person, who must pass a background check, to possess firearms."

I don't know what kind of federal agent Ron was, but I hope it wasn't ATF. This has always been the case. What this order does is to disallow using a corporation name on the purchasing documents and thereby reducing the number of people with access to the affected weapon to one. Since no criminal has ever gotten one of these weapons from a corporation, it is easy to see that this is not about reducing gun crime and all about reducing gun ownership and access to guns by law abiding citizens. Apparently the phrase, "shall not be infringed" has no meaning to this president. Beware all you gunaphobes, once he takes this right, he will come for the ones you value.

What, you can find a youTube video on any subject your sick mind can dream up, but you can't find the number of an executive order? You SHOULD read it in it's entirety, though I doubt you can, and if you did you wouldn't understand it. Maybe someone will make a video explaining it for you. You can then misinterpret that for the rest of us. Or you could listen to Chris Matthews and it would be pre-misinterpreted for you.
