Mr. Walker, I applaud you. Perhaps once the new YMCA is built, more activities such as this can be planned and more people and community organizations can get involved.

Unfortunately the kids in the tradesman blocks need a place they can walk to and kick a soccer ball around. Land, a net and bring your own ball, thats expensive?? The area is there just make it more user friendly. Every six months ??if I was a kid I"d have the patience to wait six months.NOT!!!! We have lost a generation in the last 10 years down there and its showing.

I don't get you Mim. First you say "someone should do something." Now someone has attempted to do something and you are complaining about the effort. Do all of us Williamsport residents a favor, sell all your properties and stay on your side of the river!

Wow-weezers! Two games in six months? Yeah, that'll do the trick. That's commitment. Maybe if their FATHERS showed a little more gumption even those two games a year wouldn't be needed.

so, if you need a cop go to the basketball court ? a definite way to ward off the drug dealers, play some hoops with them.

Does anyone remember the John Bower Sunday School league in Williamsport? Over 30 churches & synagogues from the area fielding teams in 4 different age divisions. It was GREAT! And the only requirement was that the players were enrolled - and attended - Sunday School. And get this - they actually verified! I played in that league for 8 yrs... Saturdays at Curtin... that's what needs to be revived... Every aspect of it.
