This is a disgrace. We continue to take away from our children, yet we find money to dump in to center city and attempts to attract tourism.

"Councilman Randall J. Allison said he is concerned that in the midst of talk and comments in the newspaper, people may not understand council has an obligation and responsibility to do its due dilegence, research the information and "make our best decision."

Then how about doing the research from other cities that have this ordinance and provide the citizens facts on how it has helped reduce crime. We all hear about what you hope it will accomplish, yet we hear nothing about what it has accomplished in other communities.

A remark was made about the black and African American community in relation to the Memorial Pool. Not everyone in that area is black or of African descent. I live in that neighborhood and I am not black or African. Many of my neighbors are also not black or African. Do they think the pool at Memorial Park was put there just for black or African American people? No! It was built for anyone to use. I get so tired of hearing how a certain group is not getting the same opportunities as others. We are all Americans. My neighborhood is full of Americans. We should be equal and there should be no need to single out one group. Garben78 is right. Shut down all the pools. The city does not need to be in charge of recreation. Think of the tax dollars saved.

Well Snydbob go figure but are you as a white going to scream discrimination? But I bet they will and have you also noticed a trend in means of crime in Williamsport? I only have to hear the names on the news and I can tell what race they are isn't that sickening

"I only have to hear the names on the news and I can tell what race they are isn't that sicking". Yes that is "sicking" that you would say that, considering I'm a African American with a "white" name, grow up.

Nothing I said was intended for the honest working law abiding citizens there justin but I can prove the my statement especially when their portraits are posted in the paper and on tv so you sir can argue that one all you want but facts are facts and that's that I'm just sick of people using the discrimination claim yes it's time they grow up
