Mayor Campana wants a better population count to qualify the city for more government funding.. Its not about something to hide AL. Government has snowballed out of control,Less government is in vogue, how is registering 13,000 rental units & its administration costs gonna bring up our property values?? Given the choice wouldnt U want to live in a free state?? Get your population count from cell phone usage or how about the mayor own city WATER AUTHORITY everyone uses water.

Mim, I'm just sitting here shaking my head. I understand your disdain for the proposed landlord/tenant ordinance. But your constant rants that go off on a tangent are not helping your cause. Particularly your reference to the new requirement to dial the area code which has nothing what so ever to do with the census in Williamsport. And your constant outcry about property values is totally unfounded. What would you like the mayor to do about your property value? Do you even understand how appraisals work in relation to the current housing market? Give it a rest.

You're trying to argue with mim using rational and logic....it won't work! She can't understand it and doesn't look past her wallet.

"This is a true fact"

Can you give me an example of a false fact? A fact by definition is true, unless you are a Progressive, then a fact is whatever you want it to be.

I wonder how Howard would feel about an ordinance that required all homeowners to register everyone living in their homes. I understand the mayor's dilemma and part of me would like to set up road blocks at every entrance to the city and do background checks on everyone coming in. Fortunately, the part of me that loves freedom keeps that part in check. Landlords and tenants have rights just like homeowners, and violating those rights is not only wrong, but it is unlikely to provide any tangible benefit. If Mr. Ebner wants to move out of the city because it is too dangerous to live there, then he should do so. What he should not do is demand that the city do the wrong thing so that he will feel better about staying.

Our country was founded on the principle that the innocent should give up their privacy because only the guilty have something to hide, right?

That's why the government logs all out letters, and phone calls and emails, to keep us safe.

In fact, to even question the governments need for your information calls your patriotism into question.

So, OF COURSE, the building code officer should maintain a list of all the occupants of rental properties for law enforcement purposes.

"Can you give me an example of a false fact?"

Of course we can. It is anything called a fact from conservatives and libertarians.

Jerry, I'm sure you're aware that I don't agree with you often, so I just wanted to say how much I liked your "more than a bit" sarcastic post. The only thing I don't like about it is that I didn't write it. :)

"Get your population count from cell phone usage or how about the mayor own city WATER AUTHORITY everyone uses water."

There are 10 apartments in my building. Water/sewer is included in our rent, so the population count would be "1."
