leaningright: DUH! There were NEVER WMD in Iraq after DADDY Bush went in an took them out! Get your facts straight and read the 9/11 report before spewing nonsense. W KNEW there were no WMD and Colin Powell even admitted it. Educate yourself please, you make us all look like stupid hillbillies. When I got the call in April 2003 telling me they'd be coming home sooner than we thought, I rejoiced! Then in May 2003 W said "Mission Accomplished!" This was even better. Only my family member had called two weeks earlier to say BP was now in control of the oil wells and OUR MILITARY was guarding the them! That's NOT what we went into Iraq for! Syria will never be another Viet Nam because we no longer have a war monger for a president! We have an educated man who won the Nobel Peace Prize for being a peace loving person. W will never be able noted as intelligent or peace loving. He couldn't even admit a wrong after it was proven he had committed one.

He thought he thought he could get anyone to believe anything he said, and the more outrageous is was, the more they would believe it."

If what Syria did was in-violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, it seems (to me) somebody needs to take SOME kind of actions. So far, there ARE actions in-play...right-down-to...and, including...forcing Republicans to participate. -Shaman

So because they killed 1400 with chemical weapons, it suddenly requires action." - Capricorn1

So because they killed 1400 with chemical weapons, it suddenly requires action. Despite the killing of 100,000 innocent civilians with conventional weapons? And how does this civil war threaten our national security? And please don't bring up past conflicts, let's stick with the present.

What...you're all-of-a-sudden not "comfortable" with the whole concept of action thru coalition-forces. Shaman

If the UN had the backbone and support from coalition forces across the globe, then I would be all for it. But if this is just a message sending adventure taken on by Americans only, then what's the point. And BTW, there are plenty of Democrats that are against any action too.

For those of you who think we can perform a "surgical strike" with missiles and no "boots on the ground" ... think again> Specific targeting MUST come from eyes on the ground. Whether it is an "alphabet soup" asset or a SOF military unit, we will have very clear targeting information to back up what our drones and satellites may or may not see. Any kind of military strike will involve having our people in harm's way. That is what they do and why we train them to the levels we do.
