"And this is the "intelligent" "mature" response from a grown man???? "

Yes it is, considering the immature nature of Eric's post.

Why are the police answering letters to the parks and streets department? -Enigma

Enigma, I think maybe the letter writer may have embellished a bit in his letter in order to make his point that he wasn't getting any response from his inquiry. It would have been nice for him to have included the name of the officer that spoke to him.

I wonder if the police officer was an engineer. Why are the police answering letters to the parks and streets department? Don't they have enough work of their own to do. Isn't there any crime in the city? Now we see the problem. The police are doing everything but their job. We have the police doing case studies for the mayor and making threatening phone calls for other agencies. Maybe if they were on the streets, the crime rate would go down.

Oh yeah, and everyone knows that if something has been that way for years, that makes it right. Is it any wonder the city is dying?

We lived on the upper part of Hillside for many years, the problem with that street is it is to narrow for the amount of traffic it sees every day especially during the school season. There was a sign at the bottom of the street towards Dewey Ave. that said trucks were not permitted but they allowed the school buses, and the reason the buses were on that street was they were trying to avoid the lights on 4th St.

We witnessed many accidents with cars and buses especially during the winter months and that street also is part of the bike path I lost count how many times people were hit on bikes.
