Good Morning Mr. Reeder, just to let you know the article was front page news in this paper Jan. 20, 1996.

A friend of my husband's read my question on here and called us last night and he even still has the newspaper, he is going to copy the article and give it to my granddaughter.

Now, do you want to continue to play some stupid silly game?-Gavinf56

You sir are the one who did not like my post in response to yours. As to "back at ya Pal", where did that come from?? I responded to your post, you then tried to "add" to it in a 2nd. post(changing the 1st. posts meaning), & now you are trying to(I believe) say that if "I were to be Honest", I would look back at other previous posts. What next, study a term paper you wrote in 9th grade? So I ask, Whom is the one trying to play games? Point out where I am incorrect(in context please)& if you are correct, I am a big enough person to man up. I will not however go all over the map just to try to be half right. As far as the "dubya" statement, it is not my opinion, but what is in the wiki board that you referenced.-Scott

It was January 19, 1996, I do recall that there were a few people who were killed up on Lycoming Creek Road in a trailer court, but I do not remember the name of the court.

Bornhere, wasn't 96 the year of the January thaw and flood and then back to a quick freeze? I thought the blizzard was 93.

Thanks Mr. Reeder and gavin, my granddaughter is doing a school paper on storms that happened in Lycoming County for the past 20 Years, I will relay your information to her.

She asked me to help her because "I was old enough to remember back then", gotta love those grandkids huh.

...and you are fully entitled to that opinion and I doubt there is anything that I can say or do that will change that opinion no matter how wrong I think it may be.

"Gavin, are you capable of staying honest in discussing a subject?" - Scott36

Back at ya, pal! If you were to truly be honest here you would have seen and acknowledged my first post was in response to MrShaman's post.

Now, do you want to continue to play some stupid silly game?

Gavin, are you capable of staying honest in discussing a subject? Your post referenced "photographs", Not incidents. I responded to your posts of "photos". To myself, a reference to a photo on a subject such as this is IMHO--WEAK. If you wanted to discuss incidents, fine, however don't "add" to your first post(in a second post) in order to insinuate I "did not get it". My response to your first post stands. My statement that dubya's use of them is considered the most prominent also stands.-Scott

Bornhere, the online archives at the SG don't go back that far.

As Chuck mentioned, the James V Brown Library would be your best bet. I thought at one time they were digitizing their newspaper archives, but I could be wrong on that. Just check them out online, and you can search their newspaper archives (I think it is under their genealogy section) and request a copy of the article you are looking for for a small fee.

Really Scott?

The first photographs on Wiki are from the Democratic National Convention in 2004.

The first noted incident of "Free Speech Zones" under History at Wiki is of the 1988 Democratic National Convention.

That's weak? Sure, if you say so.

Photographs??-WEAK. If you read it, the Dem. national con. was mentioned down the page. However, it stated that the most prominent examples were of those used by "dubya".

BU$HCO called them "free speech zones".--MrShaman

I actually drove by one of these, just to personally see it with my own eyes. I felt that one day it would be a sad note in history books. I could then pass it on to my grandchildren, etc. with being able to say, "I saw it with my own eyes". BUT, I have been told by some conservatives that I did not see what I saw. I suppose that my eyes somehow "took out of context" the event.--Guess it did not fit into their Patriotic notions of themselves. I'm glad that some still remember this sad chapter of the "W" saga.

But according to you and some on here and on Capitol Hill, it's no big deal. Just let them all in.-capricorn1 Where did I put out a suggestion to you that immigration was not a problem? Where did I give the impression of "Just let them all in"?? I just happen to find it interesting that the issue(fence) is used as such a political football. From your post, I get the impression that you feel that some "magical fence" will solve all of our problems. BUT just out of curiosity, do you think the statement I wrote is incorrect??---IF this hypothetical situation were to come to pass.-Scott

I know this is a little off the subject, but I need some help locating some information on the Blizzard of "96" for this area. I've tried the search bar to the right but nothing is working. I'm looking for the article that this paper did on the storm, if any one can help I would appreciate it, thanks.

While the population of illegal immigrants has grown since 1986. Why? A Congressional report points to 2 factors. The rigid and slow paced legal immigration process and the increase use of border patrols.

The legal process for immigration is loaded with red tape and delays keeping relatives separated. Causing people to enter illegally or staying after their visas expire.

The enhance use of patrolling the border has stopped the flow of seasonal workers but it has made them more willing to stay after they get through the border and not return to their home country.
