Never..... The Navy Yard shooting was a pump shotgun, not a semi-auto and I've yet to see an automatic weapon used for a mass murder. Full-Auto weapons are illegal for all but a few with special permits.

Education is a good thing, Helen.

Considering most criminals don't buy thier guns thru legal channels....When you can figure out a way to control/regulate that Helen, get back to us.

Never. Plain and simple and the more naive simple minds like yours their is it makes it harder to educate the uneducated and ps people kill people not guns. How many more deaths by vehicles until we outlaw gas and diesel?

This letter is a perfect example of the uninformed when it comes to firearms.

So I guess you are for the disarming of law enforcement and the military?

"how many more" -when are we going to hold people accountable and fix the system so mentally unstable and highly dangerous people are given the help or confinement to assure the danger of others. How many people looked the other way because it was mental illness? Too many.

Why don't we get rid of sugar, cooking oil, and alcohol too. They contribute to mass killings.

Got no problem with guns as a tool. -Radioactive

As a tool for what? Hunting? Are you aware of how many hunting "tools" are semi-automatic? Lack of education and fear seems to be the cause for so many to jump on the gun control band wagon.

According to the FBI, mass shootings account for less than 0.1% of all homocides over the last 30 years.

Hysteria and stupidity are liberal tools used to empower the ruling class while stripping power from everyone else.

Texas, I agree. With regards to alcohol alone, according to Wikipedia, there are over 100,000 alcohol related deaths each year. Where are all the letters regarding this grim statistic? Where is the liberal outrage?

Another letter from an Obama-brainwashed believer that guns kill people. Lady, people kill people, not the guns. It takes a willing and mentally unstable person to kill another person and if the will is there, they will use whatever method is available, i.e. shotgun, bomb, knives, etc. Wake up!

"We are a sorry excuse for a species to need guns to protect ourselves from our own species."--radioactive

Yet here we are. We have police carrying guns to protect themselves and we have dozens of gun toting 'Yosemite Sams' protecting the President at all times. But for some reason, radioactive doesn't think that any of us deserve protection. Of course many of us posting here spent years carrying guns protecting your right to say whatever you want about us. Your use of the term Yosemite Sam shows that you have no idea who gun owners are. They are just people who aren't afraid to take responsibility for their own safety. I don't own a gun because I want to kill someone, I own a gun because I don't want someone to kill me. Will it work? It works for people in this country every day.

"The gun toting advocates will not be satisfied, the mass shootings will continue under their influence."--Chuck

Chuck is one of the many brain-dead who still believe that passing laws will stop crime. He doesn't get that if the laws we already have had been enforced, we would not have had most of the mass shootings we have had in the past few years. Remember Joe Biden saying that we couldn't enforce the gun laws we have, so we need more gun laws? The truth is that they won't enforce the guns laws we have because they want an excuse to pass more gun laws. If you want someone to blame for the mass shootings, you need look no further than the White House.

Brain dead huh!

Well the ones passing laws on guns are the gun advocates pushing more guns on our society. So the ones who are brain dead about guns is the gun advocates.

Chuck, like I stated before, your lack of education and fear of guns is what makes you jump on the gun control band wagon. Do you know how many crimes are committed with guns as a result of the influence of alcohol? Do you know the percentage of domestic violence that is committed with guns as a result of the influence of alcohol? Do you happen to drink Chuck? I'm sure like you, there are millions of responsible people that drink and don't resort to crime. Yet the majority that do commit crime are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, including gun violence. So what is the real cause of this violence? Is it the gun, or the alcohol that causes them to turn for the gun? Why aren't you placing your outrage at the real causes of violence such as alcohol, drugs and mental health? Guns are used as an excuse just as racism in order to avoid the real issues.

Don't feel bad Chuck, you're brain dead on pretty much every other issue too.

You're never going to stop all the crazy and mentally ill people from doing these kind of killings. So why have more laws to restrict the law- abiding folks?

"How many more......." Don't forget, "If we could just save one child....." Helen and Sham must be related because they seem to have the same distorted view. They don't understand that people kill people and that personal firearms are to protect your homes and property and keep the gov't in check.
