So if I get this correctly, the taxpayers are paying for the athletic equipment anyway; the money is just coming through a different budget category, ie bussing/transportation.

Does this mean STA has just been guaranteed 15 years worth of transportation contracts for the school district?

R U just kidding me or what! Schools are about education and this country is already in deep poop...IMHO the priorities are all butt-backwards in this district!!!

Texas, that was the first thing I thought when I read this. I believe the School District and the SG may want to clarify that, because as written something doesn't smell right.

andy33 I think you're missing the point of this: the District is raising outside money to fund athletic projects.

Texas and Capricorn, I would think it means they are guaranteed 5 years. After the money is paid, it would really only be about keeping the name on the stadium for 10 more years.

STA is doing the district busing for less cost than the district was able to do it for. That was a done deal and saved taxpayer cost. Obviously no further contract was signed, or the district would have to disclose it as they are required for all large contracts. Now STA is donating money to the stadium upgrade. What is not to love?

oldbilltown, I'm not against this initiative, I just pointed out that it could be misleading to some as written. An added sentence regarding the current contract would have provided clarification.

And let me guess STA is owned by whose family/close friend ? Corruption at its finest here.
