Grover, is that you? A govt small enough to drown it in a bathtub? The cons never realize they can cut the govt as much as they want, but rest assured it'll remain large enough for business interests, still on your dime.

So, now we have more proof that President Obama is a little man.

A Park Service Ranger said: “It’s a cheap way to deal with the situation,” an angry Park Service ranger in Washington says of the harassment. “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”

"The so-called representatives for the citizens of the USA need to be told, follow the constitution, and do as citizens desire, or else." I don't know that the constitution and the citizens' desires are always compatible.

"You are getting exactly what you want, no government." -Chuck

Really Chuck? I never said I want no government, I just want smaller government. And if this is your idea of no government, you're even more delusional that I thought. The only parts of government that have been shut down are those that Obama thinks will cause people to put pressure on Republicans. Do you think for even one minute that the IRS is not still doing audits, or that the EPA is not shutting down businesses. Obama's wars are still being fought and the laws are still being enforced (at least the ones that Obama and Holder like). This is not a government shutdown, it is a publicity stunt. Legally, the government should have shut down years ago, because it's been that long since we have had a budget, but it hasn't and it's not now. Maybe I should say this in words you'll understand, BAH BAH.

Giving it all to the military will not stengthen us if you continue to neglect the infrastructure of this country. -Reeder

Chuck, Maybe you can explain to us why the infrastructure needs anything. Obama fixed it with the stimulus package. There was enough money in the stimulus for 80,000 $10 million projects. We should be the best maintained country in the universe with that kind of money. Stop whining about infrastructure unless you are willing to call out Obama for wasting all of that money and fixing almost nothing. Every dollar of that money was given to political allies and the only infrastructure that benefited were those projects that his cronies were involved with. If he was a Republican, you would be calling for impeachment, but since you are a hypocrite, all we hear from you is how great he is. All it takes to be great in your eyes is to have a 'D' after your name. That's a pretty low bar.

Chuck what about the billions of dollars that is being spent on infrastructure as a result of the stimulus package?

"So please, when you talk about weakening our security and defense capabilities, you need to look no further than the current Administration."

Giving it all to the military will not stengthen us if you continue to neglect the infrastructure of this country. The sequester and the cuts it made is tearing at the fabric of America and all the programs that the republicans are scrambling to look like they care about. Republicans are detroying this country for their ideological call of the extreme members of it's party.

And they lobby both sides of the aisle.

That sounds eerily familiar when it came time for Democrats to vote on the Affordable Care Act.

As they weken government they weaken the fabric of America nand er infrastructure and that in turn weakens our security and defense capabilities.. -Reeder

Chuck, the only thing that democrats are willing to make massive cuts in is the Department of Defense. Do the research and discover the planned cuts in uniformed manning levels; especially the Army and Marines. They are literally planning to wipe out a quarter of our forces. Levels we haven't seen since WWII. Read how they are planning to literally dismantle our naval capabilities. One trillion in cuts just to one department, yet they refuse to even consider cuts in other areas that are bursting with waste and abuse. So please, when you talk about weakening our security and defense capabilities, you need to look no further than the current Administration.

"Then, you're ALSO in-favor of breaking-up all o' those monstro-banks that are "too-big to fail", right???"--Sham

Are you really that dumb? Banks are not the government. I'm no fan of big banks, but as long as they are honest brokers, I have no problem with them either. I prefer to do business with smaller banks, but there are companies who need the services of the big banks, so no I am not in favor of breaking them up. But there is no such thing as too big to fail. If they fail, I say let them. It's called freedom. If you are free so succeed, you are also free to fail. I believe in freedom for people and for business. Free people do not need a huge government to control them, they need a small government to protect their freedom.

We are following the Constitution. We had an election. The majority of the people got what they desired. Just as they did when all the Tea Partiers were elected in 2010. Just as they will in 2014 and 2016.

First, take a deep breath and let the anger subside, then maybe your spelling will be better. Then stop thinking that the government is America. The people are the country. The government is here to serve us, not control us. If a government shutdown can hurt the economy, then the government is too big a part of the economy, which it is. Maybe you should be complaining about that.

Mr. Reeder:

You are wrong, as usual.

Those are "non-essential" government jobs.

In other words, we don't need them.

Frankly, 99% of this nation has not even noticed the shutdown, just like they never noticed the sequester you were wailing about.
