Regardless of whether you agree with Ida's politics you have to admire her gumption.

"You are here to protect, and insure the jobs for the USA citizens of this great nation"

--

Please elaborate on "...to insure the jobs..." as a duty of our elected officials.

Please, do tell.

LOL

Gee the Tea Party got what it wanted, government shut down, deep cuts to "worthless" programs like NIH and for veterans and park service. nThey manage to cut the food stamp program but could not pass a transportation bill or a farm bill. The Tea party is good for nothing.

Timely letter seeing how the Tea party in DC is preparing to march the nation off the fiscal cliff.

Ida, What exactly is it that you want Congress to do? I know that you will hate to hear this, but your rant sounds much like that of many liberals. Telling Congress to do something to keep jobs here is too general and could be very dangerous with this "All I have is a hammer, so everything looks like a nail" Congress. I'm with you on the 'follow the constitution' thing, but in your letter that seemed to be a throw-away line. I'm willing to march, but not for some vague platitudes.

"and insure the jobs for the USA citizens of this great nation."

Rep. Marino has voted to throw over 800,000 USA citizens off the job. What will you do with him?

I am ready to march and keep the World War II Memorial open despite a vindictive President sending guards to keep it closed.

In previous shutdowns, the parks and memorials were never barricaded.

Just like closing down White House tours, this President is showing himself to be a small man when faces with dissent.

Just like delaying and harassing conservative groups with the IRS.

Just imagine what a liberal like President Obama will do once they control your healthcare.

Those are government jobs so Marino will be praised. The goal is to make government so small that they can drown it in a bathtub.

As they weken government they weaken the fabric of America nand er infrastructure and that in turn weakens our security and defense capabilities..

Mr. Reeder:

You are wrong, as usual.

Those are "non-essential" government jobs.

In other words, we don't need them.

Frankly, 99% of this nation has not even noticed the shutdown, just like they never noticed the sequester you were wailing about.

Liberals always lie about future consequences.

LOL

Erik the park service is classified as a non-essential service so all parks and memorials fall under the park service. Republicans did not even know what it is they shutdown nor what law states what is essential service(s) that will be maintained during a shutdown. Republicans don't have a clue what it is they did let alone what they are doing it for.

Non essential doesn't mean we don't need them or the Republicans would not be backtracking so fast they have whiplash trying to fund them temporarily while continuing the shutdown and then they blame the President and the democrats for their own deviousness.

Face it Ida, the Tea Party is gone. Here is a good idea, why don't you break away from the Republican Party so they can have some real candidates. I wonder how long the Tea Party will last.

I hope you're planning on taking bags-o'-ca$h, with you.

If you can't out-spend the lobbyi$t$ (for the companies who've off-shored a bulk o' "this great nations" manufacturing-base), you're wasting your time.

BTW...don't forget to "flag" Dick Armey, for this (proposed) event. Even D.C.-"outsiders", like him, can have fairly-full schedules.

"I basically agree with your letter, Ms Temple, even though I in no way am affiliated with Tea Party.

However: "Do it or face the consequences." Uh, that sounds sort of like Mafia talk. What exactly are the consequences will they face, Ms. Temple? An armed insurrection?" - Francine

*

It's possible she's referring to MORE T-Baggers...in the House (like the Class O' 2010)...drawing a check for doing nothing.

"The so-called representatives for the citizens of the USA need to be told, follow the constitution, and do as citizens desire, or else."

We are following the Constitution. We had an election. The majority of the people got what they desired. Just as they did when all the Tea Partiers were elected in 2010. Just as they will in 2014 and 2016.

Oh and by the way....."or else".....what, exactly? Anarchy? Another armed Civil War? Why not just convince enough people that you're views are right and encourage them to vote that way?

"As they weken government they weaken the fabric of America nand er infrastructure and that in turn weakens our security and defense capabilities.."--Chuck

First, take a deep breath and let the anger subside, then maybe your spelling will be better. Then stop thinking that the government is America. The people are the country. The government is here to serve us, not control us. If a government shutdown can hurt the economy, then the government is too big a part of the economy, which it is. Maybe you should be complaining about that.
