Next thing you know people will be complaining about the cow manure smell in the country and the bus/foot traffic by a school...... Unless you are 100 and predate the railroad in Newberry you have no business complaining.

The sounds of trains are as much a part of Newberry as the Bro-dart and the Polish Club. It's one my fondest childhood memories. If you don't like train noise, don't live near the tracks. A vibrant train yard is a sign of a vibrant community!!

If trains whistles are so offensive to you why would you live in a house next to the train tracks. My brother lived on Howard St right next to the crossing. He and his wife had a newborn baby and they never complained. Why? because they had chosen a house right next to the train crossing.

Let's see ---one collision predicted in 166.5 years or 28.5 Million vehicle crossings on Howard St. according to the Federal data.

These clowns wanting to close need to go to stand up.

The railroad steals the 1/4 million worth of signals we paid for and stickes the saving in maintenance in somebodys pocket.

If you read the RULES ---10 mph trains don't need train horns. Therefore limit the train speeds to 10 mph.
