Republican blinders

October 10, 2013

I see this "newspaper" & Webb Weekly promoting the Republican agenda by only putting in cartoons & stupid statements made by Democratic persons to make the Democratic Party look foolish and stupid....

There is nothing natural about a conservative.

Bobbie2, First off, I sincerely thank you for your response/opinion on this subject. My original question(twice actually) was in regards to specific comments saying that liberals were not Christians. Erik would not "put up or shut up" when challenged on his comments. IMO, he is nothing more than a loud mouthed punk.(about the nicest way I can put it, although it is extending too much credit to him) Now to your comment--I happen to be a big fan of stability(would this be what you see coming out of our present congress?), as to preservation, sounds ok but it would all depend on what it is you want to preserve. A piece of advice to you for what it is worth-When you deem your adversary "incapable of understanding", more times than not, you are putting yourself at a severe disadvantage in more ways than one.-Scott

Well Scott, if I were a religious man I might take a stab at it and I am not a fan of the hard right Christian Conservatives.

Having reread your comment on my 'puter instead of my phone, I think I will retract my comment.

On a side not, Chuck with his passive/aggressive comments is a perfect example of someone on the left doing exactly what you describe.

Just because one disagrees with n answer doesn't mean the question wasn't answered or the position defended.-Gavin

If anyone has attempted to reply to the question(at least Bobbie2 took a weak stab at it) I missed it. Would you care to lend your wisdom to the original question? It is referred to at my 8:26PM post on this thread. Or I can type it out again.-Scott

Very close runner up as best post of the day:-Francine

Yea,yea, yea Francine, cute little snippets like this are common with tea party people when confronted with an uncomfortable question.(along with deflection,& changing the subject) But it is a fact that so far, out of all of the conservative posters on these boards, not a one has the intellectual honesty to take a crack at the original question. Either to condemn this rational, or defend it. The way I was raised, one either defended their opinions,(if challenged) ceded if needed, or kept the opinion to themselves.

Perhaps because the Rats banned it at their convention?-Bobbie2

I do not remember this, however if true, freedom of religion is also freedom from religion. Like it or not, that is the American way. But, to suggest that a person is not a believer in Christ because of their political affiliation,(as the poster I directed this question to seems to imply) is IMO, extremely small minded, self serving, and just plain disgusting. But again the person I directed this question to(more than once) is too cowardly to address it. He seems to like to voice his opinion, yet scampers away when asked a simple question regarding his view. Growing up we had a name for this type of person, however manners instilled into me by my parents forbid me from posting it.(it would be borderline approaching your poor choice of disgusting monikers) Have a nice night-Scott

I went back to MrShaman & saw the reference to it, Was what you posted that bad? It would seem to be out of character for you if it was-IMO. I can assure you that it was not me, I have too much fun arguing my point of view. Have a good night-Scott

When you lose elections, you're supposed to accept it gracefully and come back another day.-FortySixand2

I would suspect a little actual historical research would change your mind. It does wonders for those "absolutes".

The level of intellect displayed by the liberals here only requires one conservative to refute.-eriklatranyi

If this is so, why is it that you keep dodging/ignoring my question about what you might say to the Lord should you be asked on judgment day why you question one's belief in him for a political convince? Why you believe that a political party can claim ownership of Christianity? I expect another dose of crickets.

Since the conservative view on this comment board far outweighs the liberal view I suggest 39 of us right leaning people drop out to even things up-premier

Better not. It has been my experience that those on the far right need to keep their entire gaggle together in order to feed off/support each other. Get one alone, and ask them a tough question & they get all fidgety, and resort to deflecting, or changing the subject. Been there, done that.-Scott

You clearly demonstrate a total ignorance of how our system of government works.-eriklatranyi

You actually rationalize that ultimatums, "hostage taking" are the way our system of government was set up to run?

Yeah, in the good old days. I sincerely cannot recall/think of any time that the tea party has shown any manners or grace in any of their actions. It is like they can only understand hate, & conflict---appealing to the lower base instincts of some people. It is a very sad time in our history. JMO-Scott

I love how the liberals here totally ignore history where Democrats shut down the gov't during budget negotiations.

It is just another perfect example of liberal hypocrisy!

It's not only an easy call for the President not to negotiate, it's the correct call. These Republicans are holding us as political hostages. It's not how our democracy works. When you lose elections, you're supposed to accept it gracefully and come back another day. Oh, and you did lose the House election for all intents and purposes. The Democrats nationwide had 1.5 million more votes for congress than did republicans. The republicans gerrymandered there way to a seat by seat majority. This republican shutdown wasn't done out of power, it was done from a perspective of all out political panic. We all know it.
