Petty, embarrassing fallout on three fronts from partial shutdown

October 13, 2013

There is plenty of blame due both major political parties and all the major wings of our federal governing apparatus for the partial shutdown of our government....

"Despite President Obama's daily use of his bully pulpit and a compliant major media to paint the Republican-controlled House as the reason for the partial government shutdown, the fact is the House has been passing daily spending measures 10 at last count geared to keeping most government operations open.

It is the Senate controlled by Nevada Democrat Sen. Harry Reid that has not approved the bills."

Yes, that is quite true, despite what Obama and his legion of lemming followers want us to believe.

"...beneath what this country is supposed to stand for."

And that is that there was a shutdown to begin with. We all know where the responsibility for that lays. Anything that happens afterward is the direct responsibility of those that started this mess in the first place. Period.

"But the closing of the National World War II Memorial on the National Mall and the national parks by the Obama administration represents the height of heartless pettiness that can only be laid at the feet of people drunk with power."

Not to worry!! People might (STILL) get the "opportunity" to complain about rats...running throughout any-and-all refuse that starts piling-up!!!!

The opportunities are ENDLESS!!!

"...by week three such a barrier will be a necessary legal warning that if you go in anyway and your toddler cuts herself on broken glass and that stayed there because no one is cleaning the place—well, that's on you, not the government.

Cordoning spaces off or hanging signs in front of them even if they cannot be securely closed is a legal strategy for preemptively dealing with the things that can go wrong in abandoned spaces..."

Mr Shaman are you serious? Liberals are the only people I hear complaining about the color of the presidents skin and then to accuse their opponents and putting words out into the conversation that was never said - conservatives look to the heart of the person not the color of the skin. That is one of the reasons liberals do not understand they do look at the color of skin to make assessments and not on the substance but the superficial.

And...MrShaman...who's STILL upset with the fact that in 2010, we elected to take the first step in curbing the tide of Socialism.

Mr Shaman says Yeah...sure...that's been the issue..."socialism".

Our country was set up to be a Representative Republic. Now we see those representatives and Senators actually doing their job and everyone is complaining.

We are not democratic or socialist.

I guess it could always be a math-problem, then...congressmen thinking they're (actually) speaking for the majority.

I guess it could always be a math-problem, then...congressmen thinking they're (actually) speaking for the majority.-Mr Shaman Once again you miss the point. The form of government would be a Representative Democracy. We have a Representative Republic. We elect Senators and Representative who best reflect our views, yet they are using their own views. Sometimes we disagree.

Agreed....BUT, if you're a Rep for a herd o' folks with a lynch-mob mentality, you need to show a "little"-more maturity THAN your constituency!! That's the "beauty" of representative-democracy...electing a Rep who acts like a "firewall"; someone who knows (or, SHOULD know) that mob-justice ISN'T an American-"value"...or, shouldn't be, anymore.

That's why I've become a much-bigger fan of the Electoral College. This Country NEEDS such a "firewall" against those T-Bagger types...who (only) ASSUME they know what it takes, to maintain a civil-society. When it comes right-down-to-it, all they ever care-about is their OWN agenda...no MATTER how that agenda might impact others!!!

When it comes to making mature/logical decisions, TOO-many T-Baggers just ain't GOT THE "TOOLS", to
