A few things most of you have ignored...

First, the two escapees were housed at the Pre-Release Center, a facility for people who have jobs. So...they would have already been making their financial obligations.

Second, that they escaped from the PRC does not make them hardened criminals; it became an issue to capture them when they began stealing ATVs and burglarizing homes and cabins. When they began committing felonies, don't you think that then just maybe law enforcement might want to kinda step up efforts to get these guys?

Bobbie2: "Agreed it was stupid but why was it not equally stupid to expend all this money and hours to recapture someone who were probably not dangerous and would have surfaced on their own." Ever see the first Rambo movie?

The county can be proud, we spent tens of thousands of dollars to catch these 2 hardend criminals! Maybe they should let these 2 out so they can pay the support, and put the sherriff in jail for spending all this money to capture them. The helicopter fuel bill alone was probably more than what they owed!

I question the wisdom of putting people in jail who are behind on child support. We're using taxpayer money to house them, if they have jobs they could lose them, and then they have the jail stint on their record, which can affect future job searches.

Wouldn't it make more sense to spend the money on training and job placement, so they can pay what they owe?

Aside from this, these two morons will now spend years in jail when all they had to do was wait out a short sentence locally. What a stupid thing to do.

When I heard they were searching Rock Run and McIntyre mountain, I was hoping there would be a Thelma and Louise type ending.

If there was an award given for Stupid Criminals, these two would definitely qualify.
