Lunacy

October 16, 2013

With the exception of the AR-15 and 20,000 rounds of ammunition, the letter by J.D. Myers sounded like the rantings of a left-wing loon watching too much liberal television....

Chuck,

"According to the NRA the Navy Seals did not kill bin Laden, guns did."

Come on......that's weak!

Cap, roger that. Just wanted to be clear on who exactly your "heroes" are...I'm proud to say I'm one of them and I'm certain that the President has thanked these SEALs (and all others that serve or have served) time and time again for their courage and the sacrifices they make to keep us safe.

Bobbie, they're calling for rain soon. Be careful that your tinfoil hat doesn't rust.

Since Sham only needs the opinion of a CIA chief to know its true, consider this:

CIA Chief George Tenet told President Bush the evidence on WMD's in Iraq was a 'slam dunk'.

So, Sham agrees there were WMD's in Iraq....after all, he only needs the opinion of a CIA Chief!

That being said, I must ask, who are these "real heroes who rightly called Obama's insistence of taking credit for the mission, nothing more than a campaign centerpiece"?

They're definitely NOT the SEAL operators, as no named active-duty SEAL involved in that mission has ever made those claims. -djzlucky

You're correct, that's part of a long standing military creed that many take seriously; respect for the Commander in Chief. However, at the time many Special Ops veterans did speak out and voiced their opinion regarding Obama taking too much credit for the mission. It's also the opinion of many of my friends currently in the military. And to me, anyone that has served is my hero.

Cap, I 100% agree with you that the SEAL team operators deserve our praise and respect for executing the Bin Laden mission.

That being said, I must ask, who are these "real heroes who rightly called Obama's insistence of taking credit for the mission, nothing more than a campaign centerpiece"?

They're definitely NOT the SEAL operators, as no named active-duty SEAL involved in that mission has ever made those claims.

I don't NEED any such background, to reference a CIA Chief's opinion. -Shaman

And what did you expect a fellow democrat to say about his boss? I would call that a rather biased opinion. I'll stick with the opinion of the real heroes who rightly called Obama's insistence of taking credit for the mission, nothing more than a campaign centerpiece.

I gather that the author feels that AR-15s and 20,000 rounds of ammo are not protected by the 2nd Amendment.

Since every mass shooter has been a deranged liberal, having an AR-15 and 20,000 rounds of ammo is not just a hallmark of conservatives.

Actually...those folks, who are (actually) paying-attention, don't have to ask ANYone... Shaman

Shaman, it's obvious that you know nothing about the military and of course you would give Obama credit before the SEALs that actually did the mission. Obama has the most powerful military at his finger tips and SEAL teams train for missions such as this everyday and are on call at a moments notice to respond anywhere in the world. After receiving intelligence from his advisors, Obama's "gutsy decision" involved merely saying the word "go". He didn't gather the intelligence, he didn't complete the mission, but you along with many liberals praise him like he had his own boots on the ground. And he arrogantly accepted his sheep's praises.

Mr. Swishon, as long as liberal politicians and news media sensationalize tragedies involving firearms, they will continue to instill fear in those that are not educated on the responsible use and need of firearms by law abiding citizens. They need to put their efforts into the real cause of some these tragedies such as the need for increased mental health eduacation and treatment. Years of attaching a stigma to mental health has resulted in too many people and their loved ones ignoring the symptoms until it's too late.
