We're only there because we "need" their crude oil. And for that, they get more of our money than anyone else in the world, and more of our weapons than any place in the world. All used against each other, and us.-Francine.

We would have no need for their crude oil if the tree huggers would not be standing in the way of the oil companies. Drill Baby Drill." - hopeforfuture

Fred Astaire would be PROUD o' ya', but...as-far-as geographic-locations go...BIG OIL never (really) had any problems identifying the Middle East...at least, since the '30s. -Shaman

And this had what to do whether many consider Libya as part of the Middle East? The World Atlas outlines the modern Middle East, or Greater Middle East which includes many North African countries like Egypt, Libya and Sudan.

Don't feel slighted. It's pretty-much a full-time job (here), correcting T-Baggers misconceptions.

Either way...the subject is North Africa. Libya wasn't magically moved to the Middle East. -Shaman

Egypt is also North Africa but considered Middle East by many just as many consider Libya as part of the Middle East. Opinions vary because the Middle East is more of an idea, than a specific geographic location." - Capricorn1

Thank you Capricorn1. I have to admit that I was surprised that MrShaman chose that semantical point to argue? That seems to indicate he just wants to be critical. He could have criticized my main point, but he took the easiest route and instead questioned the semantics of calling Libya the Middle East. West Virginia borders our state, and yet it's south and we're northeast. Is that worth criticizing? I guess it is if you're miserable.

"Since Obama employed U.S. force to oust former Libya dictator Moammar Gadhafi in 2011, conditions in that country have deteriorated."

Gee...lemme guess...Gadhafi was the "moral equivalent" of one of America's "founding fathers"...the same way ReRon Reagan described the Taliban....right??
