Texas, a nice quote, but I was referring to an answer from you. Otherwise, your personal answer.-Scott

Scott36, I hope this helps.

1 Chronicles 29:11-14 Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you;you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and powerto exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.

Texas, So it is Gods will if a person has money & possessions?

"Me thinks that it has more to do with the worship of "money" than anything else."

++

First rule is that you need to realize that all we have belongs to God and we are just stewards of it. Our money, house, possessions are God's. He let's us use them. He provides for our needs.

When they are taxed, see wastes, and see fraud, see abuse, then they get angry because they worked hard for their money and don't want it wasted.-Texas

I believe that you possess the intelligence to understand that in just about everything, churches/religion included there are those who "abuse" it. Should we attempt to outlaw religion in the name of stopping the abuse? Obviously not. So why the constant attacks on social programs? Me thinks that it has more to do with the worship of "money" than anything else--JMHO-Scott

Gavin, here we go with the "word deflection" game. well here it goes. Now it would appear that you are trying to suggest that there is only one type of "dependency",(the everything is either black, or white mentality) trying to equate All types/definitions of dependency with "addiction". Just keep trying to muddy the waters to appear to be "half right".

Scott36,

Most certainly there are levels of cooperation and dependency in our society. One of the most dependent is parents taking care of babies or standing up for the "life rights" for the unborn. Christians also are instructed by the Bible to take care of widows and orphans; the levels of dependency differ. I have stated this in the past.

I was trying to educate you not bash someone. After a long period of time, you may come to the same conclusion.

People just need to get out there and help other people or donate to the range of charities. When they see a "need" and step up and provide for it, they are blessed. When they are taxed, see wastes, and see fraud, see abuse, then they get angry because they worked hard for their money and don't want it wasted.

Welfare societies can get out of control.

Scott, does a ****** addict depend upon it, or does he cooperate with it?

There is a very distinct difference.

Gavin, Texas, You both have points. However to just dismiss his LTE because of "past experience", or splitting hairs over linking "cooperation", and "dependency" is IMO just about bashing "Chuck". It is a fact that we as humans depend upon each other for our survival--As individuals, as a society, or if one prefers, as a "species". Cooperation does play a role in this. Necessity plays a role in this. It also happens to be my opinion that just plain old "being a decent person" plays into this also. But it is interesting, and fun to kick around. Have a safe & pleasant day-Scott

Scott36,

His past experience goes past that to justifying government support for a broad multitude of dependency supports.

If you read it closely, it looks like he is trying to liken cooperation to dependency, almost as if they are one in the same. With that I have to disagree.

I believe that Mr. Reeder was trying to point out that we as Human Beings are interdependent upon each other. Whether or not you want to admit it or not, we are, to one degree or another, dependent upon others. You(some of you anyway) want to just bash him because of a dislike for his views. But the fact still remains--we do depend on each other as a "species".-Scott

They rich paid for their share. It's a really simple concept. The more you use it the more you pay for it. Fuel taxes are a consumption tax, then of course if we are talking Federal tax dollars, then they pay more than their fair share.

Good letter! The rich didn't get that way in some ether-land. They got that way through the infrastructure of what we've all built. Therefore, the more you benefit from that, the more you pay into that. It's really a simple idea to grasp, unless your a anti-intellectual conservative.

This is a great example of how liberals have to contort their thinking to justify the coerced redistribution of wealth.

What is even worse is that redistribution has been taking place worldwide and it is an abject failure. So, instead of liberals abandoning a failed policy, they double-down and expand redistribution believing there will be a different outcome.

Sorry, but all men are created equal, but they don't stay that way for long. Trying to keep everyone equal is a futile form of insanity.

I hope this is the end result of some SG editing.

It would be interesting to know the thoughts of where the unintentional and coerced cooperation comes into play.

Chuck, I think what you're trying to say is those that have wealth should be more cooperative by giving even more of their money to support those dependent on government; better known as wealth redistribution.

Each time Reeder submits an LTE, it makes less sense than the last one he submitted. It's reached a point where people think he is babbling now!!!! Poor man......he really needs help.
