I simply LOVE letters like this LTE!! It SCREAMS desperation. IF a terrorist is captured, it is "all to take attention away from_______". If not, there is a reason to rant about that. One size fits all!! LOL!" - Scott36

Ah, yes...back, when too-many Republicans INSISTED every move Clinton made (against terrorism), were merely efforts to distract the public from Monica Lewinsky. -Shaman

That's BS. The story you reference even states lawmakers from both sides rallied behind Clinton regarding the only (failed) attack he attempted." - Capricorn1

So, when you said...

"To be fair, Clinton had excellent opportunities to eliminate the "masterminds" prior to 9/11 after American lives were already lost."

...you were CONGRATULATING him, for his efforts...like Newt Gingrich did...that it was "only" Arlen Specter, John Ashcroft & Dan Coats who'd said his efforts were "suspect"!!!!

I apologize.

"No he's not! This is a guy who's finishing out his last term, has no friends in Washington, came to office broke, and will leave office a multimillionaire set for generations. These are not the conditions surrounding a desperate man. Bored and impatient, yes, desperate, no way."--Francine

President Obama has a pretty big ego to feed so yes there is a high level of desperation. Or maybe you prefer the word urgency. He doesn't want any tarnish around his legacy.

Why would anyone go after a terrorist? Even after all these years. The right wing lost an election and they still can not move on or forward.

The sad thing is, over the last two decades we were left with pretty dismal choices to elect the leader of this nation. In most high level jobs that we apply for in society, we are required to show that we have vast experience for those positions. Yet for the highest office in the land, one just has to have enough money and the backing of their party to get elected. Democrats hit it out of the park by placing a well spoken black man on the ticket and had him speak of hope and change after the Bush years.
