Seems like a week or so ago the House and Ted Cruz tried and you Rats threw a fit-tinfoilhat3

...Along with a fairly large percent of the country. Looks like there is a chance that after next election there might be a Congress that wants to do more than vote perpetually on getting rid of the ACA. A Congress that actually would like to see America move forward, not continually throw childish hissy fits. Once more, thanks for the laugh, & putting thoughts in my head that are bright & sunny!!!! LOL at you again!!!HAHA

If you truly believe that 48% of the country really needs government assistance then this country is in a very sad state and it doesn't say much for democratic leadership and policies.

To the Democratic leadership you mention, I see that you do not see fit to mention what was handed to this current President, nor the total lack of help(obstruction) from the Congress. To the 48% talking point, to the best of my understanding, that is determined by income, family size, etc., so how about some REAL conversation on how to get our wages up to where people do not fall into this category. It did not take Wall St. that long to recover after the crash, why is it taking so long for the workforce to "catch up". Congress passes laws, they campaigned on it, WHAT are they doing to address this matter?-Scott

As far as business for profits, where is your "greed" line drawn? How much profit is a business "allowed" to make before you label it greed? -Capricorn1

I would suggest that when profits continue to rise, and the "standard of living" continues to drop for those whom work hard to make a company money, that could be a starting point to classify it as "greed'. Now, I could also ask you, at what "costs to a company's workforce" is considered acceptable in the name of "profit"?

Pretty sure they have shown or mentioned that 90% of the presidents have gone to church on Christian Holidays. Left or Right

Still a big fan o' those fairy-tale books, are you? MrShaman

But here are some of the resources MrShaman Has used: George Carlin on Religion and God [YouTube] Lewis Black - The Old Testament [YouTube] Now these are extremely credible sources

You're serious...aren't you???

1. When George Bush II was President...his fans insisted the President COULDN'T create jobs! It's (all-of-a-sudden) "different", for Obama...huh??

2. You've "forgotten" it's (primarily) the 1%ers/high-roller$/"job-creators" who exported most of our manufacturing-base, to other countries...right??

I do not hear too much about the welfare of fellow Americans discussed, just the "costs". If to nothing else, at least be honest about it to yourself-- Scott

Here we go again... those that say there is wide spread abuse of government assistance programs and think the programs need major reform, automatically don't care about the welfare of Americans. Liberals won't wake up until the system gets so big we won't be able to sustain it. Then the ones that really need the help will suffer. If you truly believe that 48% of the country really needs government assistance then this country is in a very sad state and it doesn't say much for democratic leadership and policies. Capricorn,

Are you serious? What side of the isle is constantly moaning about "costs"? I do not hear too much about the welfare of fellow Americans discussed, just the "costs". If to nothing else, at least be honest about it to yourself--To some the ONLY thing that matters is PROFIT. This is my honest feelings after years of listening to both sides. Please do not try to contort my post in such a way as to say I am against profit. There is nothing wrong with it, it keeps an economy moving. But there is a difference between profit, and sheer greed. I just feel that the welfare of fellow countrymen is of more importance.-Scott P.S. You were also comparing "ideologies" to "making money" with Hollywood. IMO, apples/oranges. Of course there are wealthy liberals, as well as poor conservatives.

Sadly, IMHO, what those from the right(not all) seem to worship more than anything is Money. -Scott

You're obviously leaving out the many liberals in Hollywood. To label one side or another as money worshippers is unfounded IMO. How would you explain then, conservatives donate more than liberals if they do nothing but worship their money?

What I want to know is who cares? Who keeps the tally straight on the Christian Scoreboard? Who he h e ll is counting?

This has to be one of the most ridiculous arguments I've ever seen on this board.

This means that he thinks Republicans are Christian and Democrats are not.

Once again, Chuck, you need to read what is written, not what you THINK was written.

Too often you, Chuck, and Shaman read something here that was written by someone that you disagree with that seems to trigger some memory of something you heard or read on some Liberal source. And then you react to what you remembered instead of what you actually read. That's the only explanation I can come up with for your habit of putting words in others keyboards. It also explains Sham-Wow's habit of linking non-sequitirish You-Tube links to the debate at hand. Keep trying guys. You will get through this.

Speaking of "twisting", you are in grave danger of confusing yourself again. You seem to have a self induced phobia of liberals. Trust me, there are FAR worse things in one's journey through life to fear than a political opponent. Once again trust me, liberals are not the end of the world.-Scott

Sadly, IMHO, what those from the right(not all) seem to worship more than anything is Money. It seems to find its way into most of their arguments. Again, JMO-Scott

What is with this long running p*****g contest about who is more "Christian" ? Please, give it a rest, is it too hard to think of a subject or response based on brick and mortar facts, actions, events, or any other earthly happenings? I'm not suggesting we not ever talk about religion, but is it necessary to use it as a sward to smite someone who has a different opinion than yourself?

As long as we have an inept President and administration when it comes to creating jobs ( and i mean manuf. jobs, not part time Wally World & McDs min. wage jobs)or bringing them back to this country, there will be the overwhelming need for charity.Hopefully, the NEXT President will do a better job on that front, I don't care what party he/she is.

This letter is in response to a previous letter that stated "Conservatives" do not keep in line with the tenements of the Bible which they "preach".

I thought the letter yesterday wad a better response, but this one isn't bad.

By and large, persons of faith tend to contribute more to charity because their places of worship present a portal in which to give that is not available or present for those who do not attend weekly services.
