October 25, 2013

I was amazed by the editorial on 13 October that stated that President Obama was responsible for the closing of various monuments and parks....

House Republicans passed several bills that would have kept the government open.Senator Reid and the President refused to sit down and negotiate a compromise. The President decided what closed and what stayed open. He decided to spend money he didn't have to close open air national monuments that usually don't have ranger presence anyway. People with common sense in this country are "Amazed" every day at how many of you there are that refuse to open your eyes and see the gross incompetence of this administration. Go ahead now have another glass of the Kool Aid.

When you look at what was closed compared to what stayed open, it becomes obvious that those choices were made simply for spite against those groups of people that Obama dislikes. It had to cost more taxpayer money to erect fencing around the WWII monument than it would have cost to staff it normally.

And Obama's favorite government funded golf course stayed open. Any other questions?

Well stated msgjsheets.

..

In the game of high stakes politics, the president missed an opportunity to accept the Republican proposal of delaying the individual mandate by a year with the funding bill.

Now with the deficient designs in the online enrollment system for ACA, he and his administration will take the full credit for its failures. He could have delayed the rollout a year to work the bugs out of the system and at the same time blamed things on the Republicans.

Now more people are being dropped from existing health insurance programs than are being enrolled.

The president and democrats are in bed with the health insurance companies (and their rich executives) and they are going to get rich and make the average American poor.

So Democrats fought tooth and nail to get a clean funding bill that did not delay or defund Obamacare and now that there are many issues arising from Obamacare and it's website they are clamoring to delay it's implementation. You leftists fool no one! Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), joined by Democrat Sens. Mark Pryor, Mark Begich, Mary Landrieu, and Kay Haganis are leading the Democratic charge to delay. It won't be long till they want a defund effort. Then you have Rep. Jared Polis, D-Colo., multimillionaire member of Congress seeking exemptions from Obamacare for citizens of his upscale district. Stand back and watch as the train rolls off the tracks Republicans and let the Democrats own this monstrosity free and clear.

House Republicans closed the government to begin with. Now you want to pin a medal of honor on them for trying to open it up? That makes no sense. It should have never closed to begin with. House Repubs be the wrong horse in this race.

Even Clinton was smart enough not to insult the military. Never thought I would praise Clinton, but compared to what we have now he was a saint.

Hopeforfortune, I agree. I actually voted for Clinton. There were a lot of things I didn't like about him as a man, but he was a lot more moderate, especially in his second term and he was willing to negotiate.

The simple FACT that during other shutdowns, parks and memorials were not closed should be enough proof.

But liberal are liars and so is Mr. Shannon.

Carl, agreed, that is what i have said in the past, let them own it because it is derailing right now. It is a horrible law and everybody knows it and it should not have been implemented and Justice Roberts should bury his head for his decision which was wrong.

Maybe it is also time to further regulate the insurance companies and the hospitals concerning their costs. We regulate milk prices and gas prices, why not them, they are out of control.

This president is a chicken sh!t petulant child. He hasn't proposed or insisted upon a budget since coming into office. Now, when he doesn't get his way he attempts to lock veterans out of a memorial commemorating their service. The rats are jumping ship, even they can see the writing on the wall. As for the website, 5 kids going to a tech school could have built a better one than these knuckle heads.

And, shammy, you can't sue the govt for a slip and fall on their property.

Nice try. It's sounding, MORE, like Republicans are reheating "Reasons For Invading Iraq 99.0"-tactics.

Republicans, Sensing Weakness in Health Law Rollout, Switch Tactics

"In changing tactics, Republicans hope to tamp down the continuing public criticism of their previously fruitless attack on the Affordable Care Act, one that led to a 16-day government shutdown, by focusing on the problems with the law that they say they have warned the nation about, unheeded, for three years."
