This has to be one of the biggest blunders of the Campana administration yet! Thanks for nothing. Myself and another 160 some downtown workers are now forced to park on the other side of town instead of in a secure parking garage. Not a big deal to walk 6 blocks or so except for when winter arrives and we have to trudge through the snow and ice to get to our building. No respect for those of us who patronize the downtown business daily. Without us, a lot places would be going belly up. Not happy!

As to why your tax dollars go to Williamsport, why do my tax dollars go to Philly? Once again, it is about a smaller state and federal govt that takes less and leaves more for the locals to do with as they see fit.

Rick, I have a few thoughts on this. If the govt didn't take so much tax revenue from us then we would have more of it locally to do what we want, not what the state and feds want. This is a public works project, so you should be good with it. My problem is they didn't have funding in place before they tore down the old one and now are groveling to the state. Typical dumb bureaucrats. Money given to the "poor" as you put it, does nothing to help the economy. Yeah, some grocery stores get some, Wal-Mart and other retailers, but it isn't creating jobs or generating tax revenues through formation/expansion of businesses. I also railed against a proposal to use taxpayer funds to aid in the construction of a chain restaurant. If the wealthy want to expand, I am all for it, but I am not for using taxpayer money to create roads, etc. to aid them. That may be shortsighted, but I don't believe their employees should fund the construction of roads to build the building. cont

This is pure lunacy. Will these projects generate enough revenue to justify building them? How will they be maintained? Whose grandchildren are footing the bill?

Why is it my tax dollars are going to Williamsport? I don't go there. Come on republicans, where are you on this one. If it was to give money to the poor you would be all over it with those liberal comments. Just like those stories on tax dollars going to the gas industry, not one peep out of you, not one.
