There was a meeting regarding Memorial Pool/Park this past week. I believe we are overlooking and underutilizing a big resource in the city, that being the tax exempt entities....

Interesting idea but there are flaws. Two that I noticed right away. Those empty buildings are owned by someone like the church and they can leave them sit empty because they pay no taxes on them. That is the first thing that should be addressed. Once you solve that problem and hurdle you can then proceed. Next is funds, where are you going to get the funds to make this possible? I notice you are using a lot volunteers but materials for projects and the renovations and equipment that would be needed are not volunteered or donated.

On the surface the idea is great it is the underlying details that will thwart it.
