if you don not support abortion than support birth control. Stop breeding if you want to fund less to social services. How it used to be is not how it is today. Should we stop providing "free"{ birth control to over-populate 3rd world countries?

Then since the baby did not attack the mom so there was no self defense involved and there was not an accident, it was murder.

ritty- I agree, abortion takes a life. Like i said, it's not for me, but i do not think anybody has the right to take that decision away from the person carrying the unborn fetus, the woman, not you, not me, but her.

Hi leaningright. I believe we have a duty in the interest of general humanity to preserve an unborn human life just as we have a duty to preserve an adult life.

The position to allow the final say with the woman seems right and logical, which is why this is such a difficult issue. But it is also logical to say that abortion at any point takes a human life.

Yes, it's the law of the land, but laws can be changed.

Have a good day.

"That includes you Erik. He will judge those who turned their backs on the suffering of those who are born." —Chuck

How has Erik turned his back on the suffering of those who are born? What does he do different to or for the born than you do? Is turning one's back on the suffering born a worse option than abortion?

John Zook, I agree that many things are in place for this not to happen but guess what, IT HAPPENS. The supreme court says abortion is legal(right or wrong) and until that changes we have to be able to deal with it.

Reeder- you want to justify abortion as a deterrent to children born into poverty? With all the low cost or free preventative services out there there is no real reason to get pregnant. Also, the idea in life is to improve yourself so as not to live in poverty. Unless you voted for Obama............

Erik, you set the bar pretty high as there are many ways innocent lives can be lost. Capricorn1-First, Thank you and your fellow veterans for your service and sacrifice. Second, I agree with you about the role parents have. I found that the impact I had on students was really determined by the homes they came from. There were exceptions, of course. But they were just that, exceptions.

Careful now Erik. More needs done upfront before these situations that cause abortion happen in the first place.

I have said this once before, and also, i do not want the schools teaching my children about abortion, but here is where i stand. For your info, yes, i am republican and consider myself pretty far right but, i am not a Tea Party person or member. Here goes it.

Although i personally do not believe in abortion and would not want any of my children to have one, i can't bring myself to take that right away from a woman. I think it should be discouraged in every way possible but in the end i think it is the womans decision and nobody elses.

God will have the final say on this one i think.

Both young men and women need to be taught that having a monogamous relationship with their spouse is a sacred responsibility. A male and female united as one is the start of a family unit that creates the sustaining building block of mankind.

Teenage males think that they need to have a encounter with a female to achieve passage to manhood. It is hard to stand for what is right against peer pressure. Young females want to be loved but are conned by the boy to believe that he does love her and then she allows the candy to be given away. But then the girl realizes she yields a lot of power; you see they guy walking around "in tow" acting nice hoping to get another piece of candy. She decides when and where, and she has a male to satisfy her peer group.

Parents need to take an active role in modeling proper behavior and teaching their sons and daughters to wait until marriage. Dads and moms, stop browsing the internet looking at inappropriate sites and get rid of the

Or parents could step up and teach their children personal responsibility and instead of having the mindset that their children would never have premarital s e x, teach them the value of using proper contraceptives for both the prevention of disease and pregnancy.

On a side note, on this Veterans Day I would like to thank all the Veterans out there for their service. Semper Fi.
