IMO, Mike Mussina will be, and should be, inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame. His career numbers speak for themselves, and so did many of his individual games. How about the near perfect game in Fenway? He's not only a native of this area, but a quiet, brilliant, and unassuming star. After reading a couple of these comments, I'm reminded once again how ugly jealousy is, and how difficult it is to be accepted here when you're a success. In plain English, material success is des***** here, and it's simply amazing that he actually came back after he hung it up. That alone says all you need to know about Mike Mussina. HOF? Absolutely!

Mike and his family were in the next booth at OIP recently on a football night. I don't bother people, even if it was the Pope. Nobody seems to bother him at the games either. He's a heck of a pitcher.

He signed an entire box of baseballs for our "fall league" little league baseball team a couple years ago. He was coaching the Montoursville team and there we all were on a fall day at the little league field in Jersey Shore. Even though they didn't act like it because they were trying to be respectful, the kids were in awe. I'm sure Mike picked up on it and did this for the kids on the team.

Metalhead, First: do you know what kind of contract he had with his agency? Signing a "free" autograph could have violated said contract. You do understand there are MANY professional athletes who won't sign autographs, period. Second: Are you aware of all the good Mussina has done? Ever attend an event in the Montoursville HS gym?

No he does not. Anyone who tries to charge a kid for an autograph(in his hometown no less). Is a scumbag in my book!
