Route 15 thanks

November 30, 2013

Regarding Route 15 Montgomery Pike, first of all, I would like to commend the men and women who worked on the latest project. I travel this roadway everyday to and from work....

Come on now, I am educated, you just don't want to know the reality of the world. Those places will remain in business as long as aging males have a place to go to shake each others hands, or other stuff.

Cap, 2 yrs. ago I posted a headline on here from The Casper newspaper and the Sun removed it. Nothing about it was nasty it was common knowledge with a internet search, I figured they didn't want people in Williamsport to know what was going on in Wyoming.

I agree Bornhere and they don't do anything about it even when you report it. I guess they are too busy censoring words that have no reason to be censored.

Someone used the "B" word on here the other day and no one said anything about it, people actually agreed with them, so again like I said the other day the fault lies with the Sun for not doing anything about it, so it will continue.

DKMDKM and educated shouldn't even be used in the same sentence and I'm wondering why the SG hasn't removed his post.

DKMDKM, you have just provided an educational moment. I guess that I was ignorant to what all goods and services (legal/illegal) were rendered.

Political correctness. Just call them the pervert stores that lead to the destruction of families. Of course with so many things going online, those store will probably disappear.

Hi cheyenne. No problems with trees and rivers at all. And my rough guess was wrong. A quick check showed that PA is actually 58% forest. It's just hard to find a job if over half the land is trees. Not the point of my comment anyway. My comment is how RT 15 goes through trash alley, strip club/"adult" store alley, goes past abandoned properties, abandoned rusted out vehicles, empty storefronts and a myriad of junk shops. The state government is probably embarrassed if this is what people see when they drive through the state.

RT.15 from NY to MD shows the seedy underbelly of PA. Starting at the north border you see what 75% of the state is...trees and rivers. Next you see Williamsport, where the garbage alongside the road begins to accumulate. Next, various shacks, abandoned buildings and rusted out cars through Allenwood. Lewisburg..a few businesses. Then light after light along the accident-strewn stretch near Selinsgrove. Next we get to the strip joint/"adult" store section and yet more derelict buildings/rusted out cars. Finally, Harrisburg...land of traffic jams and roads laid out using a bowl of spaghetti as a model. Then on through more woods, on to MD.

We have been waiting for the Central Susquehanna Throughway project for almost 40 years.

Of course, over those 40 years, they wasted millions on "studies" that could have paid for the road to be built.

Maybe Clyde Peeling's Reptileland should convince some schools in Harrisburg to take class trips there.

Once the Central Susquehanna Throughway project is completed, linking I-180 to Route 11/15 just below the Susquehanna Valley Mall, the Montgomery Pike will be a road less travelled. The trip between Williamsport and Harrisburg will take at least 45 minutes less not having to go through the several towns and myriad of red lights to get past the strip above selinsgrove.
