I want to thank Captain Timothy Miller for his persistent work toward the passing of the Williamsport Landlord Ordinance....

I have to agree with you. Higher standards are needed if you are to keep a higher standard of occupant. The story of Captain Miller's accomplishment is in stark contrast to another city policeman who violated the constitution and now either his stories are omitted online so you cannot comment on them or they have the comments disabled altogether. One man working for the good of the people and another violating the very rights he's supposed to be working to uphold. It's sad that one would shed such a dirty shadow on the other. But again, Captain Miller should be proud of his accomplishment and a job well done!

Yes and I am sure those landlords with clout and money will be able to pay off the officials. Billtown gotta love it. Money talks-always has.

Yeah, let's all praise the Police Captain who for months abandoned police work in favor of politics. If our police were on the road doing their jobs rather than spending most of their time on admin duties, maybe we wouldn't have so much crime. Since when did a police captain become legal council for the mayor? Whether you agree with the new law or not, this is not the job of the police department. Their job is law enforcement and they need to get back to it.

This needed to happen. Very easy for those outside the city to say what is not needed. Enigma, have you ever even looked at the recently closed houses? Hint, criminal activity inside. Sorry but High Street needed to be shut down. Until you have a better way to fix the problem, stop complaining. traditional "police work" would require 6 months to a year to remove a drug house. We don't have 6 months or a year to start solving this problem. The only unfortunate thing is it did not start 15 years ago. I don't care if Captain Miller is police, Textron or works at Burger King. he developed an effective solution and most of us are grateful! Good job, Captain Miller!

I am glad that someone is doing something about this the crime in this town is out of control, I don't care who does it or how they do it the residents of this town need to feel safe again.

Maybe the mayor should consider getting rid of Foresman and promoting Miller. Since he seems to get things done. Maybe if he is the chief Kontz will be sent packing to. Wish upon a star it is the Christmas season.

I don't really know what to think at this point. I do think Captain Miller has an agenda...if you notice everything written was approved by the Mayor. I am also confused as to the recent shut down of a property on High Street. If there were warrants were the police not able to enter on that alone???? Williamsport would not be in this mess if "prevention" started a long time ago, what was all the overtime for? At this point there are 8 unsolved homicides-"unsolved". Why? Lame excuses are not evidence of intelligent police work. Are you saying the "bad guys" are smarter than the "good guys"? Maybe I watch too much "Cops Unloaded"--they seem pretty smart to me. Something that seems to be part of the missing puzzle here. I think relocation is the answer, far away!!!! I, too, have researched other areas and Wilkes-Barre was not my first choice of good leadership. I don't like what seems to be a pervasive, disrespectful, biased attitud
