"The flat earth environmentalists..." - William L. Harris

I'm guessing you don't understand the concept of "flat-earthers" ("conservatives" who have no use for science).

You chose Bible over science. CMReeder-

Scientists keep proving the Bible is correct. Things like when people believed the earth was flat the Bible clearly stated the was round.

Thanks Rick, I will check it out. You might like "War of the Arrows" on Amazon Prime (rental, not free). It was pretty good.

"The flat earth environmentalists are gleeful and happy to ignore science while they fail to appreciate the blessings of America." What follows after this speaks more about looking outside the country for a raw material and the possibility of the world being controlled by the UN. What is the science the "flat earth environmentalists" are ignoring?

Time will tell Gavin. It is a shame that somehow this topic becomes political. The right with big business and money and the left with tree frogs and unicorns. Off topic. Check out Acorn tv on the roku if you are into British and Australian shows.

"Climate change does exist." - rick424

I fully agree Rick. It's the degree in which man has contributed to that change in which we disagree.

Serious here. Just Imagine that most of North America and Europe were under mile thick glaciers 10,000 years ago. Europe had sabre tooth tigers and lion and elephant like creatures. The Bering strait was a land mass isthmus people could walk across. People could even walk to Australia a short time ago. It's hubris to think that mankind can drastically alter an Earth that was one land mass. Pangea.

Keep denying people. Climate change does exist. I can site many scientific theories from scientists not journalist. The CEO of Exxon said so himself. What more proof do you need? -Rick

Rick, to be honest, I am on the fence regarding global warming. There is an equal amount of data from both sides of the fence. But I do suggest in the future you reframe from using the CEO of Exxon, as "what more proof do you need". It lessens the credibility of your argument.

Rick:

When you can show me a climate model that works backward, then I will believe it can work forward, into the future.

So far, none have passed that test, indicating the science is not sufficient at this time.

I just got back from Dicks. I bought my 12year old daughter her first hunting rifle, a remington 243 whitetail pro. Santa done good!

Now about this letter. On Doe Run's web site they state that the regulation citing closure was from early 2008, before Obama was President. Next, almost no lead from this plant is used to make ammo. From Sierra Bullet co's web site "we do not see any reason for alarm", "no impact on any cast bullet manufacturing operation whatever" Tim Brandt from ATK, the parent co of Federal,CCI,and Speer Ammo says "we do not see any additional strain on our ability to obtain lead"

I know I'll catch flak for this, but the reason for the ammo shortage is not lack of lead, or the govt. buying it all up. The shortage is due to us. We say there will be a shortage,so we buy more ammo. Bingo, we have a real shortage, so…we buy more ammo and so on. Stop buying ammo for awhile and the stock will come back.

" for every thing you find against global warming you find I can find ten that say it is real."-rick424

Really, you haven't given one yet. You just make references to generic scientists who say it's true. I've looked at the data and here's what I've found. The best data in support of man-made global warming is contrived. Other data has to be twisted and filtered through circular logic to make it work. Here's something that every scientist who supports this theory has forgotten, the scientific method requires not that you try to prove your theory, but that you test your theory. If any data doesn't fit the theory, then the theory is false. If predictions made using the theory fail, the theory is false. Global warming predictions have failed, therefore the theory is wrong. Until this can be satisfactorily explained and remedied, the theory is disproven. That's science. What you have is religion. You can believe it if you want, but don't try to force it on me.

That is weather not climate

Enigma we could go on forever. I am right, you are wrong, you are right, I am wrong. I believe in what I believe. It is real. You believe that it does not exists. I feel we should do everything we can to save our earth and reduce our carbon footprint. Thanks for the dialog and take care.

" I can site many scientific theories from scientists not journalist. The CEO of Exxon said so himself."-rick424

You can site theories, but can you site facts? No, because their aren't any that support the theory. Now you want to quote theories from scientisst who have to make up data. That's reaching, but not like siting the CEO of Exxon. He's a businessman not a scientist and earlier you claimed that the founder of the Weather Channel couldn't be used because he's a journalist and not a scientist. Face it, you've got nothing but blind faith and for that you expect me and many others to give up their way of life. What are you willing to give up for someone else's faith? If you want to stop using fossil fuels, go ahead, but if you want to force others to do it, you'd better come up with something better than your own mindless insistence that we have a problem.

"And your proof it doesn't exist?"-rick424

First, if you want to tax me or destroy the economy to prevent something, the burden of proof is on you. The proof does not exist.

Second, The proof that man-made global warming does not exist is that there is no warming happening even though we have done nothing to stop it.

Third, even the theory that CO2 causes a 'greenhouse effect' has been debunked. The effect is a mere fraction of what it was thought to be and the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is so small that it couldn't possibly have the kind of affect that has been attributed to it (less than 500ppm).

Fourth, at the same time that Earth was warming, so was Mars. The CO2 levels on Mars did not change indicating that the cause was probably the Sun. Imagine that, the Sun warms the Earth. Who'd a thought?

How about the Ice Age I suppose man and machinery created the Ice Ages. The last mini ice age was caused when volcanoes erupted and put all the particles into the atmosphere.

The Planet goes through phases and if you think man can alter those changes, I do not.
