Capitalism isn't selfish. Collectivism isn't selfish. People are selfish.

Yes, yes yes Phil Underwood. Yes, there is no such thing as an "externality" as economists lie. Corporations never have "public relations spins". Corporations do not need to be held accountable by politics. The free-market will always weed out the bad. We don't need the FDA. People may die from tainted meat and faulty cars but the free-market will eventually weed them out. I had an*******reading this.

Moneytheism. Our state religion manufactured by corporate interests. These politicians are so owned by corporations they ought to wear NASCAR jackets with their sponsor on them.

Yes, I want anarchism as Mikhail Bakunin theorized it. Cut all the welfare and food stamps. Witness homeless, hungry people filling the streets. "Hungry people don't stay hungry for long". Phil Underwood will have his home invaded by the starving lumpenproletariat. They will demand his job and probably his wife in the flesh. Watch as the police work overtime and the prisons fill as property crime soars.

Don't any of you dare take away my freedom of speech. Call me names and disparage my intelligence as I use theory and concept you can't even comprehend because you've been brainwashed by corporate ideology. Take the corporate cacks out of your ears and stick them in your butt and mouth so you shat the fack up and listen for once in your pathetic life.

Wow Real A. You are either a troll. Or? A relic from the past, newly educated in communist theory. Newly "educated" while ignoring a history that demonstrates that communism fails resulting in the deaths of tens of millions.

By your rant you've already called yourself a name "RealAmerican". Your "intelligence" is not in question because it is my "theory" you've been "brainwashed" by some Liberal college Professor.

"Take the corporate cacks out of your ears and stick them in your butt and mouth so you shat the fack up and listen for once in your pathetic life."

I think this backs up my theory pretty well.

Capitalism in a representative government like the US has allowed private/public owned businesses and corporations to work with politicians to get favorable legislation passed that gives them unfair advantages. Collectivism ideals in our representative government has worked to pass laws to reallocate wealth through programs like SS, Medicare, Medicaid, ACA, welfare, matching federal dollars, unequal taxation, etc.

Both are reflective of taking good "isms" of "free market" and "providing for your fellow man" to the extreme by using governmental intervention to favor their cause. As previously mentioned, the selfishness of people has reared it's ugly head in both.

If we stayed with the biblical adage of "love your neighbor as yourself" in the political arenas when laws were being passed, we would be better off.

Capitalism and government limited to Constitutional functions and the rule of law doesn’t equate with anarchy. Government has evolved into what our founders worked to save us from - tyranny. Under free market Capitalism, the use of force or fraud is illegal except in enforcing the rule of law or self-protection. Presently we see the force of government used to take what belongs to one and give it to someone who has done nothing to deserve it, in violation of constitutional law, and fraud in the form of narrative or propaganda is rampant.

If you don’t agree with the above, a logical argument to back up your position is appropriate, not some sort of troll post.

I find it funny how you constantly reference Rush Limbaugh and portray him as some radical nut, and while I agree that I too find him to be a radical windbag, you seem to portray yourself as the Rush Limbaugh of liberals. Try and stay on topic Skippy.

To see collectivism in action, one only has to look at Obamacare.

Sold to the masses through lies (that would result in a perp walk for a private sector CEO), waste(overpriced website), fraud (navigators telling enrollees to lie), and its not even two months old yet!

Under capitalism, 97% of those with health insurance liked their health insurance (why the lies needed to be spread) and you knew your information was secure or you could sue the company.

If you didn't like your policy or price, you could go to another company who would be happy to enroll you.....unlike some states under Obamacare that now only have one carrier, one choice, and no competition.

People do not have post-election lobbies. large entities have lobbies. What elected officials come back to work for us? If an election is lost or an individual retires most go on to lobbyist or public relations jobs (the new buzzword for lobby). No one is truly creating socialism or capitalism other than for themselves and their cohorts.

We have a capitalist society not a free-market, the 2 are not interchangeable. Capitalism promotes fewer and larger businesses with governmental regulation that inhibits small business. The free-market promotes small business and competition needing less regulation than a corporatist society. Capitalism is no different than any of the other 'isms. It does not raise all boats like a truly free-market does. When we had a somewhat free-market society Americans of all stripes had the opportunity to prosper and many did, when we took on the stripes of corporatism is when the wealth started to concentrate at the top, while there was some trickle down the national wealth has concentrated exponentially to the top individuals and families. The top 20% of the wealthy hold about 90% of total wealth today, more than at anytime in our nations history. If you believe Capitalism and the free-market are synonymous or work together you are sorely mistaken they do not, have not and can not.

Actually Phil, neither Capitalism or Collectivism (Communism) is selfish. People are selfish, and yes, all people are selfish to some extent. The reason Capitalism is better is because it makes selfishness work for the improvement of all people, while Collectivism works to the detriment of all people, for the reasons you pointed out. In Capitalism, if you want more for yourself, you have to provide some product or service that others are willing to pay for. In Collectivism, if you want more for yourself, you demand that others produce more, and of course they don't because they're busy demanding more also. Capitalism rewards productivity, while Collectivism rewards sloth. So guess which one leads to a higher standard of living for everyone and which one leads to misery for all. History tells us that it's Capitalism that raises people up and Collectivism that holds them down.
