I do not believe anyone has an issue with someone saying "Happy Holidays" to another person.

The problem comes when people get offended by "Merry Christmas" or when people say "Happy Holidays" to avoid offense.

It is a false offense, fabricated and imagined with no validity.

When I say "Merry Christmas" you know a little more about me and know that I am wishing you glad tidings.

When someone says "Happy Hanukkah", I am not offended. I know something about that person and appreciate the spirit of the season.

To be offended or to avoid saying something innocuous for fear of offense is a disgrace for a nation founded on free speech.

To be honest, I don't even think about it either way. I use Happy Holidays quite often when I see someone I don't see that often so it saves me from saying both Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. That way it covers both holidays! LoL

The writer never explained how the young woman knew he was a Buffalo Bills fan and would appreciate the gesture.

But the story goes to show how an act of thoughtfulness and kindness not matter how small can brighten another person's day. I would like to thank the writer for sharing that story and reminding us how valuable that gesture is to other people we meet. A very Merry Christmas to you too.

Thank you farmer..

It is time we point out that those who get so easily offended are the problem and should not be coddled with our respect.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas. What is so difficult. You simply say Thank You or return any greeting. Public displays paid with public money is a bit different. Everyone should say any greeting they choose. This is the biggest thing we have to worry about? Christmas is not dead or even on life supports. Say whatever works for you and for those on the receiving end, simply display good manners.
