There's an article on triblive dot com about the closings. This included Oakbridge Academy of Arts as well. From the article:

"Oakbridge Academy of Arts and Newport Business Institute closed Monday, apparently the victims of the owners' contentious divorce, financial problems and the resulting elimination of federal funding, according to court documents."

mh21680, I hope you are able to retrieve your funds. If you have a contract and it was not fulfilled you should be able to get your money. That said, I hope you don't have to stand in line with other creditors, that could be a very long process. Good luck.

I'm so sorry this happened to the students of that school. PLEASE don't give up! What you were doing was so much the right thing, and God will see to it what you learned there will help you in some unimagined way. And if you can, try to continue your education at another school. I am so sorry, yet I feel strongly you'll be rewarded for your efforts.

That is so sad. Where is the director or instructors for the school? Aren't they able to step forward and shed some light to the situation? I hope the students can receive some help. I don't know how, Newport's credits don't transfer out.

He added that Penn College will "help as many as we can."

Is it that hard to see what happened here?

I feel sorry about the students. However Newport are rip off artist. They tell you that they will help you get a job. Right... No help from them. Went and got my degree and can't use it.
