Ok, I just hope whoever designs this white elephant does a better job than whoever designed that nightmare of roads down by Wegmans. Good g*d, what a mess.

"Your" America (of '50s-style paranoia) has been "pushin'-up daisies" for decades. It doesn't (even) qualify as fertilizer, anymore. You folks who "need" SOME kind o' "war" (to make your lives more-exciting), are nothing-more than relics of the Past. Quit relying on everyone-else (and, their tax-dollar$) to keep you entertained. The Future has no need for "anchors", like you T-Baggers. Despite what your favorite clerics tell you...EVERYTHING is temporary. If your preference is to "tolerate" Life (rather-than actually participating), Capricorn1 just might have a r

"What is the most important thing W'mpt can spend money on to improve the quality of life for its residents? More police officers would be my highest priority. The crime rate would lower and that would have a very real ripple effect. Folks would feel and be safer so they would come downtown again. Even maybe sit on their porches. Businesses would come back to the downtown. Subsequently the tax base would improve. More money for recreational facilties like community swimming pool, etc." - fishman

Yeah...keep your fingers "crossed" on all that. I GUESS that could qualify as your "contribution" to a new-and-improved/21st Century Williamsport.

I'm a bigger-fan o' Change, or...in Williamsport's case...an (actual) PULSE!!!

Not to worry. We're (still) a good 10-15 years behind more-progressive areas...West of here...so, it's not like you've all-of-a-sudden been "dropped" into a full-blown example o' the 21st Century...but, you'll survive. Who knows...after spending (what's obviously been) too-many years o' doing what you're TOLD...you might (actually) develop a sense o' creativity, yourself. It's relatively painless...despite what the status-quo might have hammered into your head.

I agree with the idea of an ice rink. That would be great! The problem may be that a hockey team cannot make a profit with only 1,200-1,500 fans per game. I honestly believe it will be hard to maintain more fans than that game by game. I think it is a business judgement call. I hope the city can find a team that can operate and turn a profit with those numbers.

Where's the ice arena? The picture says soccer / baseball nothing about ice. What a joke!!! I was at Pegula ice arena this past Saturday for ice skating and it was packed. Over 150 people easy in the 2 hr session. Also they had I under 7 yr old hockey before that that had over 100 kids at. So many things you can do at ice arenas, ice skate, curling, broomball, and hockey to name a few. PA is the fast growing youth hockey state in the US. Again, Williamsport missing out on a great community funk opportunity
