Safe to go to Hawaii now that the woman who "verified" Obama's long form (yeah) certificate of birth is now deceased.

Mele,

Great letter. All presidents are afforded at taxpayer's expense benefits that most people don't realize in a year's income. Herein lies the difference in this president than others. His personal, along with his wife's vendetta against our country, just adds to the taxpayers' frustration and resentment. He might be a good leader in the ME, where his core values would be appreciated. But, not in a free world. He is America's Saul!

Off topic:

There was a report of shots fired a couple of weeks ago at a rental property and the police responded, and then so did the Codes Enforcer and Fire Chief. The SG described the event as "a raid".

Were the Codes Enforcers and Fire Chief dispatched in the aftermath of latest standoff? If not, why not?

I can not help but wonder if this letter's author would not otherwise be supportive of the President, if it were not for all of the President's failings that the author has listed.

Do you feel let down Sir? Did you have high hopes and the President did not come through for you?

Jon Smith: You're an idiot. George W used to take the entire month of August off and hide out in Texas. Maybe if he would have worked in August 2001 9/11 could have been prevented? Every scandal you mention in your idiotic letter is completely fabricated by the right-wing propaganda machine.

Yes, gone are the good ol' days when the President of the United States of America took two weeks off a year for vacation. He would pile the kids on a Grey Hound bus and head for the Jersey shore to relax in the motel 8 three blocks from the board walk. Luckily Officer Opie was around to protect him if any evil would befall them.

LOL

Name a political American who is humble like the present Pope who by the way said wasn't all that humble in his life.

Chuck, just because you elect someone into politics, doesn't eliminate the possibility of still being humble. But sadly enough, we rarely see it.

Chuck, my point was if the tables were turned, republicans could make the same statement. If Republicans were to get control of congress and the white house, democrats would be in attack mode. It's the nature of politics.

Actually Capricorn1 yours doesn't make any sense whatsoever because you changed the name nothing more. It's doesn't exonerate the Republicans of their hypocrisy. They are not the truthful realist they claim to be. This letter and the one from yesterday more than prove that.

In addition, the Obamas' Christmas holiday was for 17 days, totaling $4 million. In contrast George W. Bush stayed nearby at Camp David over Christmas so his staff could enjoy the holidays with their families. President Ronald Reagan spent $1.3 million per year for travel. This year is the worst, and it's only half over. The trip with his family to Africa has been predicted to exceed $100 million.

Maybe we should worry about cost and not time taken

President Obama is the most expensive president in U.S. history. the total cost of all his trips, In his first three years, he and his family enjoyed 16 vacations. In 2010 their trip to Hawaii cost Americans $1.5 million. Mrs. Obama departed for Martha’s Vineyard early during a 2011 vacation, so she could have a few extra hours of vacation. It is estimated that her separate early departure just for the Martha’s Vineyard vacation cost we the taxpayers an extra $100,000. First Lady Obama departed early for their December 2011 Hawaii vacation, again at an estimated extra cost of $100,000. The president and his wife also enjoyed a "date night" in New York City for about $240,000. In 2011 Obama's travel expenses were $1.4 billion. (In comparison, the royal family of England travel cost only $57.8 million.)

Let's face it spike the right just doesn't like a democrat in the White House nor are they very accepting of a Democratic majority in the legislative. Republicans can crash the economy, run up huge deficits, have sex with whom ever they want, go to war, raise taxes, shut down the government and be forgiven and trusted but elect a Democrat and the world has come to an end, civilization is doomed and our morals are nonexistent. -Reeder

Based on the figure given, doesn't it infuriate anyone that he spends more PER DAY on vacation than many make per year? Wouldn't it have been cheaper to fly his family to DC on commercial flights than flying himself, family, security & staff to HI.? I guess if you have endless amounts of taxpayer money to spend...
