Happy Holidays

December 31, 2013

I think it would be nice if, during this season, each of us felt free to express our feelings of good will toward each other the way we really wanted to and each of us accepted the good will......

For New Years, it would be nice if Tim made a resolution NOT to write any more articles, commentaries or letters to or for the Sun Gazette!

One shouldn't care if someone says Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkuh, Merry Kwanzaa, or whatever. Just be happy that you were acknowledged and offered a pleasant greeting. Accept it for what it is.

FYI, it's Happy Monday, "Merry Tuesday", Good Wednesday, Snappy Thursday, Frivolous Friday... Not "Happy, happy, happy Tuesday". Honestly, the nerve of some people. :-)

After reading the book on the life and legacy of Duck Commander Phil Robertson (Christmas present from daughter-in-law) and the changes that Jesus Christ made in his life, everyday is happy, happy, happy. From a law-breaking, drunk who abandoned his wife and children who was looking for hope in his life and hit rock bottom to a devout follower of Jesus Christ. Interesting read of the life transformation that Jesus Christ can provide. Happy, happy, happy Tuesday. Tomorrow is happy, happy, happy Wednesday.

I'm guessing...if JC was alive, presently...he wouldn't be all-that-happy to take any credit for Phil's homophobia.

Jesus Christ {not JC} is alive Sham. And you seem to think of him as your Liberal counterpart when it fits your agenda but denounce him when his teachings doesn't fit your views.

Atypical.

Like none of the conservatives who post here do that. Get the words of Jesus to fit their agenda along the rest of the Bible.

Robertson's suspension was ended and he will be on the show, not that he missed any of it to begin with. He released another video expressing his views. This time about teen girls. He not only expressed his views about gays and their life style but also stated that blacks were happier with segregation so were whites like Robertson. In the end money was more important to A&E than people's sensitivities.

The incident on Melisa Harris-Perry has the right all fired up. How dare she! Well like Robertson she has free speech rights. The joke wasn't on the baby it was on conservatives and Republicans. One of the comments was squarely aimed at Kayne West.

That being said what happen on her show was wrong but the outrage from the right is insincere to say the least. Wonder how the right would view Romney if the baby had been adopted before he ran for President? They have not been exactly been kind to candidates who did.

LOL

Bet you say that about all liberals. Conservatives like you are all about the Constitution and rights until it comes to people whose views you can not tolerate. No back talk you liberals we are not interested.

IF the atheist Commies on this thread would stop forcing their atheism on Christian victims, this would be a much better world. We choose to believe in Jesus Christ not because we like to be demeaned, we choose to believe because Jesus changed our hearts. Because we don't run to the ACLU, get a liberal judge to force atheists to stand down, and still proclaim that we are victims, doesn't mean we don't have our rights.

I encourage all the regular contributors to this comment section to expand their ideas into a full scale articles on a topic of interest and to share your thoughts with wider newspaper audience. Don't hide your light under a bushel. I feel certain there are many who would like you hear what you have to say.

"At least he is not making fun if black babies adopted by white families like MSNBC!"- eriklatranyi.

MSNBC just expanded and solidified what most of us already knew. Their "news" is mostly nothing more than immaturely delivered political spin spewed forth by, and for, mental midgets. No wonder their ratings are continually in the toilet!

One example of what Tim is looking for is when a person sneezes and others say, Bless you, or God bless you or Gezundhiet(sp?). Some mean it literally, some mean it as an expression of good will. Either way, it is accepted by the sneezer as a sign of good will regardless of their beliefs.

No, Mr Reeder, the joke was squarely on the baby!

Singing "one of these things is not like the other...". Is aimed right at the black child.

But, like your lies about what Robertson said, you lie about what liberals say.

Not surprising.

Robertson did say that blacks were happier in pre-civil rights days. He also advocates marrying girls when they are 15- or 16. Seems like he could fit in with some of the fundamental Islamists who also have very clear ideas on what groups should have which rights.

Robertson also also shared how the Nazis, Shintos(Japan) didn't have Jesus and look at how many people they killed. I guess he forgot about WWI. All the participants in that bloodbath had Jesus. A person has to be incredibly ignorant about the world around them (not stupid) to say things like this.

Yes David is correct in saying: "A person has to be incredibly ignorant about the world around them (not stupid) to say things like this."

Premier, the Americans, British, French, Germans, Russians, Austrians were all Christian nations who routinely invoked the name of God as being on their side and blessing their actions. I'd say they "had Jesus".
