Duck Dynasty just causes channel flipping. Thank God for premium channels and the return of Downton Abbey.

The premise or the loud contention from progressives that there is no war on Christmas is ludicrous and without any substantiation. Indeed the war on Christmas is worsening every year. I'm guessing even an atheist knows that (but then, they start some of the non existent wars. It is sad to hear supposedly intelligent people state with such certainty this declaration as truth. YOu don't have to have any beliefs to admit there is a war on Christianity, period. Duck Dynasty saw increased sales, so what? Is that a crime? To assume the motive behind Phil Robertson's comments is grossly exaggerated. They don't need the money. The man simply stated the Biblical truth, case closed. That is what the anti-Christians didn't like. BTW, Cap...I love your post this morning at 10:30 am.

"Yeah...how tragic...'cause "everybody knows", the Tea Party is all ABOUT standing-up for the "minority"!!!!!"- Shaman.

BINGO!!!

You've finally pulled your head out of the sand and realized the taxpayer is now the minority, and the most commonly abused. Congratulations Sham, there may be hope for you yet!

I enjoy reading the LTE's and the responses. But it appears that some people just like to see their name in print or like to stir the pot. When the letter in question was first posted, Mr. Reeder responded the next day stating his feelings which very closely match the subject of his letter today. I'm not sure why he felt the need to repost his opinion in another letter. The responses to the original letter pretty much covered all the bases. In fact, many of both the left and right agreed that the ending statement on atheists was uncalled for. Not quite sure what todays letter was meant to accomplish?

Oh, just for the record Shaman is not an atheist. Mr. Rodger would never have allowed such a person to ride the Magic Trolley in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe.

Premier, Pay no attention to Sham. He's a troll... and a moron. You're no one on here if Sham hasn't taken at least one off target shot at you. He is always wrong and even when nailed dead to rights, will not admit it. So don't worry about anything he says. He isn't totally worthless though. Sometimes his idiocy can be used to make a point. That's why I'm sure the liberals on here cringe every time Sham posts.

Jerry, no problem going off topic. There is not really much to comment about with regards to this letter that wasn't already covered in the comments from the original letter. Chuck just felt the need to have his opinion, which he has already stated, published in print, which is in his right to do so.

Off topic (again, sorry Chuck)

Regarding the raid by the codes police resulting in same day eviction:

I can not imagine why any renter in the City of Williamsport would ever consent to a visit to their home by any city official for any reason, period. If someone knocks on your door and wants entry, state "I do not consent to any search" and close the door. If they have a warrant, they will tell you so.

Secondly, every owner of rental property in the City needs to immediately understand their liability regarding the "implied warranty of habitability".

As Ritty pointed out, the Tea Party Movement is mostly made up of people believing in fiscal responsibility, individual rights and limited government. It’s a large tent consisting of people with varying social beliefs. Whether we agree with them or not, we should respect the beliefs of others and not attempt to force our personal beliefs on others. Having said that, I’ll agree with Chuck that Ida is primarily feeding opposition to the Tea Party Movement by using her religious beliefs as the basis for her arguments. The vast majority of people don’t want to see government using religion as a basis for decisions and the law.

Christ·mas the annual Christian festival celebrating Christ's birth, held on December 25 in the Western Church. If the atheists are so offended why celebrate? No one is forcing them to. Not sure why they feel the need to remove Christ when the celebration is of Christ birth. Start your own holiday if you are appalled. I do not see anyone protesting Chanukah or Kwanzaa.

Bobbie, Do you ever worry about your own house, so to speak? I don't think anyone posting needs or has taken a nickel from you and I'm sure you stack and count them each evening. Enigma - could you provide the location of Billboards? I guess you are referring to the Duck Dynasty debacle. Worked out pretty well. Sold more of their stuff, got more people looking at the show, the network end suspension, national coverage.... Cha-ching. Brilliant marketing after a verbal faux pas. Too big of a deal was made of this man's statement. If the status of a Duck Dynasty star and his comments are our biggest worry, we are all in good shape.

"I don't know anyone whose Christmas was assaulted." - Spike2

You didn't see the lawsuits trying to remove any vestige of religious display? You didn't see the billboards demeaning the Christian foundation of Christmas etc. etc.? A reality TV star states his opinion of homosexuality and it's called an "attack on gays", but when large atheists organizations launch a campaign to remove Christ from Christmas, that's not an assault?" - enigma
