Holidays did come

January 3, 2014

April of 2013 appeared as if there were nothing any more to be thankful for and Fairlawn Food Bank certainly would not provide holyday giving to our clients....

No they don't but they do accept drop offs throughout the year at their center. I usually send a cash donation through and then donate canned goods during the holiday seasons.

Chuck, I agree. Do you know if these food banks have dropoff boxes at the area grocery stores throughout the year? I have seen it done in other states. It's the perfect place to have them and the boxes were always full.

Erik - Hate to break it to you but a significant amount of the money needed to run the food bank comes from.... the government. BTW is it not a sad statement when a church (an d a christian one at that) kicks out a food bank?

Furman Foods, Inc. (now Furmano Foods, Northumberland) have donated truckloads to the food banks of PA. In addition, just before the holidays, the employees volunteer a days labor, and the company furnishes the food, cans, labeling, and cartons, for a run which is then donated to the PA food bank.

I think people should also know that they share their profits with the employees, give 10% to their church, and 10% to charity.
