January 6, 2014

Senator Ted Cruz has really made a pariah out himself …with both parties. This real time remake of the old Jimmy Stewart movie,” Mr. Smith Goes To Washington” really has the attention of the nation....

"Hillary, not sure. Not for me but would run a good campaign. Has the assets needed or can easily get them."--Spike2

I agree that Hillary has access to money which means that she also owes those people favors and she will bleed the American people to give those monetary favors back to her campaign supporters.

rmiller - wherever did you get MichelleO. Not even on the board.Hillary, not sure. Not for me but would run a good campaign. Has the assets needed or can easily get them. You all do know Cruz has a criminal record? No, better, what do you know about Cruz? This is to everyone who thinks we knew, know nothing about Obama. What do you know about any potential candidates? Why don't we start digging into candidates on all sides on our own and start now?

Love it! Hillary is too old, when Obama was running he was too young.

Reagan was no spring chicken and Bush was not a wise old man, he wasn't even a wise young man.

Spike, I have to differe with you or anyone that suggests that Hillary is even doable. She currently is the only viable option for the Dems (although I'm not convinced that many Dems don't like her). Michelle O is the next Dem contender...and she is very viable....Hillary is old stuff and I think her time is come and gone..JMO

Then run Cruz if you believe he is electable. You will get Hillary. I don't even want Hillary. You will bleed women, moderates and younger folks. I wish you would run someone tolerable, many of us could vote out of party. Not happening with a Cruz, Rubio, Portman or Pawlenty. No more Bushes and no more Clintons. Make some suggestions.

Yes, Phil, the left is always telling us who to nominate, what policies we should support, etc "if we want to win again".

Liberals would just love to see a Republican win.

I believe them!

Does anyone else notice that it’s the left that’s so concerned with whom Republicans might nominate? I don’t pay much attention to that until we’re getting close to the primaries; too much can change between now and then.

Dr. Ben Carson would be an interesting choice, certainly better than the last candidates. I just don't think he would make it. However his views on the 2nd amendment are interesting. Looks like he might run, and if anyone can rile up the base looks like he could do it. Funny, I just saw an article that said the republican dream team, Ted Cruz and Dr. Carson.

"No Cruz is Canadian. Just like Obama is Kenyan." - Chuck

I didn't know you were a 'birther', you racist SOB. Actually, Obama couldn't have been born in Kenya, because Kenya didn't exist when he was born, which makes it kind of strange that his birth certificate says that his father was born in Kenya, but I digress. Even if Obama had been born in what is now Kenya, he might still be a natural born citizen if the right circumstances were fulfilled. I am not a 'birther'. My objection to Obama is that he hates this country, not that he wasn't born here.

Dr. Ben Carson for President in 2016. If we are all over the "novelty" of having the first black president,(i did not vote for him either) Now let's vote one in that actually has a brain and common sense. Dr. Ben Carson, he would have to be better than what we have right now.

enigma,

"Maybe you need to look up what constitutes a natural born citizen. It includes more than just those born here."

You're asking Chuck to define something legally his mentor hasn't been able to effectively accomplish in six years?

" Cruz is a liar, incompetent and lazy."

That's not a true statement but even if it were, he would be following in his predecessor's steps, huh?

Keith has it right....

Compare Cruz's resumé to Obama's. We've tried laziness, lying, and incompetence. Cruz would be a welcome change in 2016.

Spike:

We did not have a candidate like Cruz run for president in the past 20 years.

So, you're theory that he cannot win is irrelevant.
