All-in-all he probably did the right thing by resigning. The shame of this whole situation is that it was handled incorrectly from the start by the elected officials. The borough should have realized they would be scrutinized by the residents for just appointing someone, in such a high position, who is related to a council member without interviewing anyone else. I do think a chief needs to have more experience than Mr. Cashcera had, but we have no way of really knowing what kind of job he would have done. Hopefully this is an eye opener come next election to remove some of these people from council and get some people in the office that want to put the people first. Just my opinion.
