Yox,

Not accepting a person's lifestyle and not accepting the individual is a different issue. It isn't just "gay" people that I don't accept: dress (or lack thereof), self disciplined persons, work ethics, Hollywood's spewing of filth and trash, lack of parental involvement in the lives of our children, lack of respect for any and all types of authority, etc.

I said "sometimes means." And the person to which my comment applies fits my description perfectly.

Is that better, troll?

"Good post, Matt. FYI, we learned a month or so ago that "summa****laude" sometimes means "big-mouthed idiot with a diploma." Ritty77

You should keep that in mind when talking to your Dr.,your attorney, your dentist, the men who run the power co, sewer systems, your nurse or PA, your accountant, the teachers who teach your kids, and so on and so on.

So who is it that is trying to divide the classes?

Disappointing, but not surprising at the amount of far left loons commenting on this article. These self proclaimed intellectual scholars have been brainwashed by moon calf liberal college professors pushing a Marxist agenda disguised as patriotism that has slowly been destroying this country since LBJ. Whats ironic is that with all this "education", these people are to ignorant to understand that they will be the first to succumb to their own destructive philosophies. In plain english, the ideologies that keep a country strong is moral, not political correctness as well as a strong work ethic. Great article Mr. Metzger.

Reminds me of the monologue from the pilot of "The Newsroom". Go look it up, but here's an excerpt: "… there is absolutely no evidence to support the statement that we’re the greatest country in the world. We’re 7th in literacy, 27th in math, 22nd in science, 49th in life expectancy, 178th in infant mortality, third in median household income, number four in labor force and number four in exports. We lead the world in only three categories: Number of incarcerated citizens per capita, number of adults who believe angels are real and defense spending, where we spend more than the next 26 countries combined, 25 of whom are allies…"

This poor delusional, frightened old man. It makes me sad and angers me a bit that the media is allowed to stir up his fears like this. I could go into a point-by-point discussion of how he is wrong on every issue he's raised, but he has sadly been conditioned to not listen.

"What an extreme, hateful letter from an illiterate, out-of-touch neocon". Remember, anything that speaks of Patriotism or love of country is now terrorism. The government needs to watch these people because they wish to take over the government and take us backward instead of forward.

Liberalism today is not the liberalism of yesterday. It has morphed into the communist party. The platform is exactly the same. The term liberal was hijacked by the absolutists because they knew open rebellion would come from the people if they knew the truth. True liberalism was a political philosophy committed to the ideal of limited government, liberty of individuals, freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and free markets. That is not what they promote today. Today liberals have become the party of group rights,(which are really government granted privileges), social justice/progression, autocratic government, etc., etc., etc. There is nothing liberal about the current democrat party or the current crop of rhinos.

Phi,

I would differ with your post of individualism. That is history. Collectivism (and by a small majority of deviants from the norm) have mandated what the perimeters of roam would be....and it's not very far from the fence of moral depravation.

"Women are now confused by liberal feminism telling them to pursue careers over family, to not need men (and vice versa) and to abort babies without a second thought. Is it any wonder why we see so many examples of corrupt motherhood and maternity, the destruction of the family unit, and men acting like dogs" eriklatranyi

This is why we should be thankful our founding fathers made sure we would have free speech guaranteed in this country, for with out it we would have to pay all that money to have this man institutionalized

We are all individuals and capable of making choices that affect our place in society. The main difference between then and now is what we use as a basis for those choices and how much society limits those choices.
