I am not sure what kind of fundraising you expect for a POOL in the middle of the coldest winter in decades. I am not even sure why the "community" is challenged with raising 50K when the city is already in talks about renaming the pool for $50K. AND there is more than one perspective party interested. Secondly, who can attend a recreational committee meeting monthly on a Monday at 4pm? Sorry but I have a JOB and a family. Why is the community charged with leading the fundraising when there is a paid recreational director??? Isn't he being paid to help with this effort? I can't imagine he is swamped in January with recreational dilemmas. What exactly is the purpose of this fulltime position all year long? I think the mayor wants this effort to fail hence his "challenge" to raise all this money. First off, There is way more to the story than is reported. I wont even get into that here. Secondly, the meeting was help late last year like stated. What kind of fundraising do you expect to be done for a pool in December?? "Not a dime" has been turned over is correct. It takes time to get big sponsors. Ask yourself, how long has the pool been closed for already? Stop blaming the community for your shortcomings!
