Fear

January 28, 2014

When the police do not have to obey the law, there is no law. When the police can keep secrets from the people, there is no justice. I used to respect our law enforcement; now I fear it....

That comment I just made was directed at Sham. You must admit, he seems to relish being racist since he brings it into so many of his comments.

Oh mighty "Racist-in-Chief," what does color have to do with anything? Do blacks, whites, or polk dotted people have different ways of dying? Does one go thru more pain then another? Why does everything have to come to race with you?

Capricorn1: What I get from your comment, your kid is an MP so he's another person who might become a police officer and be a "cowboy" also, Im confused with your repies on this police officer in question, is he a good guy or a bad guy? Tell your son, "thanks for serving our country"!

In response to Localguy, did you read about or hear the FBI statistics regarding people hearing/seeing and quickly and accurately recognizing the location of emergency sirens and lights? It went something like only 24% of people are able to do so and respond accordingly. And it stretches the imagination how some people think Mr.Robinson should have checked his mirrors or used his turn signals. HELLO! You have a car approaching your left rear at 101 mph, your view is obstructed by the 2 vehicles behind you. In that situation, one split second is all it takes for a maniacally speeding vehicle to appear out of nowhere. The victim had absolutely no culpability in this situation.

Thank you Godzilla1-my thoughts exactly. I feel like there needs to be an "external investigation", for many reasons, by unbiased party (preferably the attorney general- Kane) to get this party started!!! The DA could not ignore this one could he?

Another overlooked possibility...I doubt ANY 'public' pressure was brought to bear with the DA to file charges. Maybe the DA has aspirations...only time will tell!....everyone seems to like the game of politics....

Millwe you are not missing anything Enigma is right and so are you! There are huge issues within the department! Also agree with andy33's observations and questions that will never be answered by wbppio where is officer millers input here? Since all he does is spew self absorbed rhetoric on you tube from the steps of city hall my vote is for his turn at the wheel of that sinking ship to see if he can divert our attention from the true issues within the dept long enough for gabe to fire the chief and the captain of the patrol division officer Orwig. Promote soild ethical officers and straightened out that quagmire of a department. He appears to have some issues with PSTD in my opinion, related to his statements but if he can focus on the dept deficiencies and become task at hand oriented he is the lesser of 2 evils that is now in charge. That or fire all three at the top and promote a Sargent or Corporal that can get the job done!

enigma: "it is up to us to make them do their jobs. The only way we will get justice in this case is for the public to demand it and to continue to apply pressure until the case is concluded"

Almost the moment I heard charges would be filed, I thought to my self, Enigma's gonna be thrilled, and most certainly believe it only came about because he put the pressure on the police. With out Enigma exposing the almost certain cover up, that nasty police man would have gotten off scott free.

Thank you again Captain Enigma !!!

I you're all just plain crazy if you really believe that the current administration, as well as the boys in blue, "play by the rules". We, as citizens, continue to live in the dark. Enigma is right and I agree with him. If the rest of you are seeing something I'm not, please clue me in!!

Mercury, actually no. My nearly three decades working in and around the military is all the experience I need. Not to mention my son-in-law is an MP.

rmiller: So, what you're saying is,this happens all the time but, if that's not what you're saying and it doesn't happen all the time why would you believe it happen here? If you seen you mother shoplifting you would run as fast as you could to tell the police, right? (I'm just useing the word mother as an example, nothing more.)

It's (also) possible he's GOT a (previous) track-record of doing this, other places he's served.

I just can't believe some rookie (straight-outta the Academy) would do something, so irresponsible, as reaching those speeds, in town. -Shaman

I was wondering if he's possibly prior military seeing as he joined the police force at the age he did. My experience with MPs is they tend to get rambunctious when given a badge and a gun at eighteen and they tend to have a God like complex.

Lemme guess...you're not all-that-familiar with the details o' this incident, but...the dude, who was killed, WAS BLACK...right??

Looks like Deprenda needed training and who's willing to take bets that he had it..not me!" - andy33

I'll be very-anxious to hear where the line is forming, for Enigma's nose-rubbing.

"Enigma, the morons here are the ones like yourself who think the Police are doing some form of cover up!!!" - localguy

*

You've gotta understand...conspiracy-theorists (like Enigma) have a deep-seated need to insist they "know" something no-one-else knows. Their only (other) option...in their desperate-quest for notoriety...would be to develop some kind of skill...but, that requires some kind of (actual) effort/work; the bane o' conspiracy-theorists, nationwide.

"Seeing how the victim is dead we may never know what the heck he was thinking or doing or the actions he took. If there is a car barreling 88 mph down your street you don't have that much time to react. One minute there is no car and then you're hit." - CMReeder

*

I'd like to think (even) Williamsport has implemented state-o'-the-art dash-"cams" (in their cruisers), that should (have) answered this issue.

"Back to the original post. I'm shocked at the turn of events of this case. Speed is one thing, but failure of the victim to utilize his mirrors, possibly the lack of a turn signal when turning, all come into play. We have not heard if the victim used his turn signal. Where is the driver of the car following the victim. What did they see?" - localguy

*

Seriously...you don't thing the State Police considered ALL PERTINENT issues??
