Politics today

January 28, 2014

There’s an old saying in business that a person rises to his or her level of incompetence. This surely applies to politics as is evidenced by our present examples....

TTfP, no worries. No alcohol for me. In fact I will be in bed before he even gets warmed up.

A common refrain from puzzled SOTU viewers tonight will be, "Wait, haven't you been president for five years?"

Gloria Borger, on CNN: "I think the complaint about the president is that he doesn't follow through."

No, Gloria, the complaint is that he's a lawless, lying Marxist.

Tonight we will see President Obama face the nation with grace, dignity, and a determination to leave office and this country in better condition than it was when he took office.-sideliner

Oh My !!! The only part I agree with was that his determination to leave office won't be soon enough for the sake of the country. This man has done more to divide the people of this country than any foreign power ever could. So in that respect I think he succeeded in his goal for his tenure in office.

Tonight we’ll hear more excuses, blaming of others, deceptions, exaggerations, class warfare and hints of racism.

His “solutions” will be vague and meaningless. Few will watch because he’s demonstrated that we can’t believe what he says.

He’ll do a first class job of delivering his narrative though and look good doing it.

Obama did not agitate on the racial divide. He drew attention to it by talking about it.

Obama did not agitate animosity. He faced blatant obstructionism and a party that vowed to make him a one term president, with an agenda that was blocked at every move.

Obama did not agitate the Middle East, He confronted and tried to eliminate the hate generated by a senseless and uncalled for invasion of a controlled and contained adversary.

Obama did not agitate class warfare. He drew attention to those like Fox News who demonize, dehumanize, and look down on the struggling working class and poor with divisive and hateful language and drew attention to corporate greed, free-for-all banking, and regulation and legislation that favors but a few.

Tonight we will see President Obama face the nation with grace, dignity, and a determination to leave office and this country in better condition than it was when he took office.

Tonight, President Obama will deliver a speech all about his own incompetence as a leader.

You see, President Obama has failed to lead this nation in healing the racial divide. Instead, he has agitated it..

President Obama has failed to lead bipartisan cooperation in government. Instead, he agitates animosity.

President Obama has failed to lead on foreign policy, leaving our allies puzzled and our enemies comforted. Instead, he has agitated the entire middle east.

President Obama has failed to lead on the economy, with the weakest "recovery" in history. Instead, he agitates class warfare and more redistribution of wealth while his agencies stifle economic growth.

Tonight, we will see President Obama throw a tantrum and say he will act by himself.....all because he failed to lead since his first day in office.

Thank you SteelerFan. Aside from the fact that I have a PICC line (a 24" intervenus tube that runs from the top of my arm to the chest) and have to have massive doses of anti-biotics twice a day (four injections each dose), I'm doing better. My nephew gives me the morning dose and my niece the evening dose. Great family!

Tomorrow I begin testing that should lead to the open heart surgery replacing 2 valves. Due to complications, my chances are not that great, but I'll at least go out fighting!

Not necessarily. Even competent, informed, mindful voters can be fooled, they just won't admit to it.

Make that uninformed, mindless, incompetent voters Mr. Reeder and we are in agreement.

"It is going to take 3 Republicans to respond to the President's State of the Union speech." - Chuck

That's because no one person can keep track of all the lies he will tell in his speech.

It is going to take 3 Republicans to respond to the President's State of the Union speech. I suppose that shows competence.

Not going to watch. I am sure that they will comment about it later without watching, talk about low information.

See the messaging worked after all. Government is not the solution. However those who have been pushing that message are looked upon now as being unable to make government work.

Cap, I doubt that even his supporters actually believe what he says, but they support the policies he represents and believe the ends justify the means.

Rick. That’s why I used the term politics; I’m not partisan like some here.
