So people are without gas and cold in this freezing weather, but we have to cater to environmentalists for no drilling and a president who refuses to approve a pipeline? As our country has been......

Its still all zealotry all the time for wing nuts, I see. Don't let the fact more drilling has taken place during Obama than ever occurred under Bush get in the way of your asinine rant.

Facts? Okay. From Fact Check.

During the last three fiscal years totally under Bush, there were 9,661 "new leases" granted for federal lands. For the three most recent fiscal years (which includes a few months of Bush's administration), there were 5,568 such new leases. This works out to a 42.4% decrease.

Take the same comparable periods for drilling permits on federal lands. There were 20,479 for the last three years under Bush, then 12,821 for the most recent three including much of Obama's first term. This is a 37.4% decrease.

The issue is about using government and politics instead of free markets to make money.

Obama, Gore and other want to push wind turbine so their stock price in GE and the turbine manufacturers rises. They push government subsidies of alternative energy so they get a direct handout from the government for the companies they own. They push for higher level of ethanol in gasoline so they can drive up the corn price and make more money on their farms. The next big coup is to get carbon tax laws passed because they see is as another way to source their pocketbooks.

If it was truly about leaving a better world for future generations, they would not continue to drive up the federal debt for their grandchildren. These scum have learned to identify an issue that is important to individuals and then exploit it for personal gain.

You are correct that when you say these people should lead by reducing their own consumption but that should be obvious it is not their goal. $$$$$$$$$$$$

Texas is correct.

The liberals here whine about crony capitalism and the power of large corporations while those same liberals turn a blind eye to the blatant, illegal crony capitalism taking place under the direction of President Obama himself.

Meanwhile, people in the Midwest suffer from propane shortages.

Proof that liberals care more about their crony friends and union money laundering than they do about real, average citizens.

Obama's long desire has been to bring America down and it is working. Make everyone equally poor while he and his cronies enjoy all the power and riches. Just read the book by Saul Alinsky Rules for Radicals. Saul was Obama's hero. It is working well so far.

My laugh for the day. Say goodbye to your super low gas prices. The gas industry is loving this cold weather as the are seeing prices higher than they have seen in years. Say hello to more pipelines as there is plenty of gas just noway to get it to the right places. As the demanded goes up so does the price and so the investors and CEOs make more money. God, I love capitalism. I love whiny republicans even more. Enjoy tour day.

Hey Rick, hope you are only using wood burning for your heat source the way you demonize the gas industry. Like I always say, if you are against fracking, you should be denied natural gas. If you are against coal, then you should not be allowed to have that for your heat source.

Darlin, I agree. Between anti nuclear energy, anti coal, anti gas, and anti oil, it doesn't leave you with many choices for electricity or a source to heat your home, let alone the energy needed to produce all the goods you consume. You could always use a windmill; oh, that's right, they are killing the birds.

I just paid my natural gas bill at work and it went down about a penny per unit from last year at this time. I used more and my bill was less. I switched from oil to gas four years ago and figure I am saving about 6K a year. Now, why wouldn't we want to give everyone the opportunity to use clean, abundant and cheap energy? Don't you think the little old couple on a fixed income could use this savings? The insanity of the anti production crowd is laughable. On one hand they grouse about the high cost of fuels and how it hurts the poor and elderly and on the next the grouse about the very thing that can help.

Get rid of corn produced ethanol but use everything else responsibly from nuke to bio.

46 and Tex together show there is plenty of drilling going on. We are and can produce a lot of gas. So much so that Montgomery will have a gas power plant and the predictions are the US will be energy independent soon increasing our national security.

The nation is enjoying global warming this winter coupled with another liberal idea of closing power plants and blocking pipelines for energy distribution.

I would be willing to bet he relied on the companies that employed him to make a profit in order to pay his salary. And I'm also sure his raises were also dependent on increased profits.
