February 10, 2014

I looked over the Array of new football coaches at PSU. There is one missing. As an alum, I would be willing to be this coach for a mere $500,000 per year....

"While they are securing union rights for college football players people are fighting to get rid of teachers union rights. Which would include the professors at colleges."

Who is fighting to get rid of teacher union rights and how?

"There is a push to get college football players into the football players union while in college."

Since college players are not paid, where would the union dues come from? They already have better benefits than most union workers so what would they gain from union membership? I know what the union would gain, but shouldn't there be something in it for the players? Are there no depths to which unions will not go to accomplish there political goals.

While they are securing union rights for college football players (BAD THING) people are fighting to get rid of teachers union rights(GOOD THING). Which would include the professors at colleges.

With a little paraphrasing I agree with Chuckles.

$500,000 for a 'water boy', sorry hydration coach.

You have a pro football franchise in a battle with their cheerleaders because they pay them very little.

Football generates a lot of money for universities.

I'll do it for $499,999/yr.

Is the purpose of this letter to say that football- related coaches as major universities get paid too much? Or that universities know how to burn through students' tuition faster than pouring a container of Gatorade on the head of a winning coach?
